recently my car has been overheating. at first i just figured it was due to a bad thermostat. had it changed and all fluids replaced. didn't do a thing so then i figured it is probably the headgasket. asked around and the best quote was for $900 just the labor. and there was no guarantee that that was the source of the problem. after talking it over with my wife we decided that it would be best to just trade it in and try to get a new car. took most of the day of goin around to different dealers but with gas goin up again and my pay not bein what it was when i was in the military we settled on an '07 Corolla S with 33/41mpg. 44 miles on the odometer. and i was lookin at this nice '05 2.5RS that was at the Subaru dealer but mpg was only 19/25. it had 20,000 and was previously owned by a rental company. no telling what may have been hidden by dealer magic.

so thats that. the corolla is sitting out front and monday after work i'm gonna go over to the dealership to pull all my stuff out of the Legacy. it was getting too late and i was tired of seeing that dealership building. i am really gonna miss that car.

Corolla will run like clock work. My mom's camry is an 02, and besides oil changes has required no servicing of any kind (except plugs not too long ago). Stop by anytime.

i'm sorry fellas but other than the personal effects retrieval from inside the car and the dvd deck i'm gonna take out of it there won't be any parting out of the car. the dealership is getting everything. its really been bumming me out too considering how much money i've put into the car. it was the first vehicle i've purchased without the assistance of family or friends. i grew very attached to her. and yea i'm sure teh corolla will run for a very long time. and i'll stop by from time to time lurking. even though i don't own a legacy the basic principles of all cars remains the same. this has always been the most accepting community on the net and i hope it always stays that way.

At least you've found something that makes economical sense and that you and your family will enjoy (hopefully). I would've been confused if you said you went to a ford or gm or something lol.
