is there an aluminum version of this hood? this is all i need to complete my car so i'll most likely buy this heavy thing even if there is an aluminum version, either USDM or JDM version. BAH!!! ive been without my car for way too long.

I would find a GT/OB hood if you are just looking for the scoop. Whether its aluminum or not, the freight alone from Japan is going to be horrendous and not worth the added expense IMO...

No yards have hoods under 300 right now. This JDMer is from Jhot so i dont have to deal with overseas freight ;)

There is no OEM Legacy alloy hood, unlike the early STis that got the lightweight hood.

Very well
I still think the shipping will scare you, unless they have a hook up with a common carrier. I'd make sure to get a quote first. Even getting the hood for $150 you could be looking at well over $300 total with shipping. Trust me, I've shipped a few hoods myself :-?

There were no light weight hoods for the BD/BG's? MY00 and up have Aluminum option (though not all are available in the states).
EDIT: this is post # 2000

Well, I was referring to hoods that fit stanz's car - 95 Legacy.
BD/G/K didn't get the option. It wasn't offered by Subaru Japan either.
You can still get CF ones made, overseas.

i think there is a place in Canada that has a mold from when a few folks did a group buy.
stanz: I'd PM cajual to see if he still has the contact info for that shop if you are looking for CF.

thanks man. yea i knew of cajual's cf. not really what im looking for (price wise) right now. i imagine it would cost a grip to get one done then they have to ship it all the way to LA. i think sybir and i will be the only BG guys in Cali once mine is done haha. if you compare KBB values of outbacks in Cali to an east coast state its carazy. rareness dog

CF hoods shatter too easily - not worth it.
Huffer, the GT-B hood wasn't aluminum? I thought it was.

None of the ones I've lifted. Either I've gotten stronger, or they're a similar weight to the USDM ones.
I know for a fact they're more durable than GC STi's - those have been known to dent quite easily.

I have seen alot of CF hoods, I have seen alot with damage from flying open, flywheels exploding through them.. but never one shattering...

I believe it was Jey who said his shattered...
It all depends on who makes it I guess.
