They are custom retrofits, PM LightWerkz on Nabisco. He has quite a few threads too if you want to do a search and see what he has done.

Hey dude, first mod should be baking those headlights

And I want to hear how the drive went!

Yea, lightwerks does amazing work. I was going to have him retrofit some TSX projectors in my headlights in my GC, but I don't have the $900 bucks for it right now

haha im scared to do anything that might hurt the car. It honestly has so much more power than any other car i've owned. Crazy...

The drive went well. Pretty uneventful. The highway got a little boring (took about 22 hours of straight highway driving). Now that I've been home and hittin some back roads, I realize why I love the car so much

You know in order for you to post those pics on here you must let me test drive it to make sure it's up to par

Dyno day today. Saw some real nice rides. My favorite was an 06 black Legacy STI w/3" pipes. Unfortunately I forgot to talk to the guy and tell him about SL-I but damn that thing ripped.

My baby put down 292 hp at the wheels with 312 torque. Consitent on all three pulls. Not too shabby if you ask me

Pff. My car can take yours any day of the week. Just let me know. I'll put your car on blocks and you won't know what's what.

do you self a favor and put about $500 bucks into that car....

turbo inlet 1-200$
FMIC $260 Shipped.
BOV

no joke ebay intercoolers are 260 bucks shipped and they are seriously every bit as good as a perrin or cobb. better than the factory sti, they are great, and for 260 bucks for the entire kit, (yes piping, rubber, clamps, intercooler, everything) you cant go wrong.

we just put a turbo inlet on my friends 07 wrx and its sick, you can hear the turbo whistling at idle. spools up a little faster and doesnt fad out as much at high rpms which wrx's have a bag problem with having that smaller turbo. im putting one on order here in the next couple days.

and last, are you sure its turbo back exhaust? ive yet to see a downpipe installed and still have the heatshield installed. every impreza in my suby group has a downpipe and not one has the heat shield. i dont think the heat shield fits with a DP. (but i could be wrong) which would mean your NOT running a turbo back exhaust and your missing out on a TON of power. you are prob running cat back. in which case do your self a favor and get a catless uppipe and a 4" down pipe. those 2 alone if you really dont have them will put you way over that 300 hp at the wheels. the turbo inlet and front mount should put you in the mid to high 290s at least. i love hearing that turbo spool so low in rpms.

so if u really have a down pipe, make sure you have a catless uppipe. when you got those knocked out of the way, step up to a turbo inlet, then front mount and finish it off with a bov, best money you will ever spend on that car no joke. then leave it, you'll be screaming and looking soooo hot.

I have a bellmouth downpipe and have modded the heatshield to fit. It can be done quite easily

GrassyKnoll

fitment is fine with the cobb dp. stock sti up isn't catted so no problems there.

okay cool just making sure. either way you should check into a front mount, just finished putting this one on my friends wrx tonight.

lol. I'm looking at a possible front mount maybe next summer. I just went wingless about 4 weeks ago so I'm sitll getting used to the idea. I think I might go for the 07 limited spoiler and the v-limited front lip.

I kept the winged trunk though and I'm probably going to throw that back on for the summer..... still deciding. I think I'm going to hold off on front mounting for now and focus on some other things... though that is definately an eventual goal.

In the mean time, I have the following on the list:

-Alky Injection
-Cut-out valve in downpipe
-New protune with the alky for: 93(no alky), 93(with alky), and Race Fuel(with alky)
-New wheels for summer (going to buy new tires next year after winter)
-New winter tires to throw on the stocker wheels.

Very nice, man :)

Wingless looks way better IMO. I'd personally ditch the STi skirts, too, especially if you're going a with a v-limited; I think they don't flow with the car and they expose the pinch area......the stock WRX ones look cleaner.

What rims are you thinking of?

sybir

And, though it should be common sense, do NOT run a BOV on a Subaru. MAF systems don't like losing metered airflow. Be careful of guys giving advice otherwise; they're noisemakers and nothing else, and make the cars run like crap. If you're running enough boost that the stock BPV can't hold it, run a fully recirculated setup that returns to the intake instead of venting.

Wiscon_Mark
09-21-2007, 03:51 PM
There's always the crushed washer method to make the stock BPV capable of handling a little more boost.

sybir
09-21-2007, 08:36 PM
Yeah, not a huge fan of the crush method. I just offer my 2 cents because I've worked with a number of Suby shops, and I've seen too many problems related to BOV's, shorty intakes, MBC's, and all the other little "i read it on the internet" tricks that work in some specific situations but not in others.

I'm a firm believer in buying the right parts for the job, and using the stock parts where an aftermarket part doesn't provide a usable improvement, at least as far as the powertrain is concerned.

Anyways, back to the subject at hand :D
Get rims! :D

you almost know what your talking about....

on a bone stock car a bov isnt neccesary your right. and a fully atmospheric will make the car run like shit. mainly just at idle. but they have adjustable ones that work fantastic on these cars. just dont open them all the way of course. but when you tune the car which his is... then your running more boost, so a bov is perfectly fine to run.

while an intake isnt needed on a suby, it doesnt hurt it if tuned for it. but you dont need a intake on a stock sub.

im running at 17.9mpsi. definately not planning on going aftermarket bov unless i end up doing a turbo swap.

besides, with the APS CAI, the thing is loud as hell already. easily louder than any 50/50 BOV. if anything i'd rather it be quieter!

p.s., dynoed at 314whp. im probably not planning anything major as far as performance upgrades go for now. time to save some dough!
