My rotors are going to wrap soon....may be couple more thousands km...

I think I will get HPS front pads, techna-fit SS brake lines and ATE super blue racing fluid. I am wondering which rotors should I pick?

well..I dont know much about rotors..so far I only have 2 options unless you guys have better idea and hopefully they wont break my bank

1) Brembo Blank rotors
2) Brembo Slotted rotors
3) EBC slotted and dimpled rotors

I have a BE non GT version

how do you know your rotors are "going" to warp?

um... I went into dealership about 20k km ago because my brake pads were completely gone. They machined my rotors as well but they said they are only good for another 30k km max..

Also, when I am braking on the highway with about 130-140km/h... i feel a lot of vibration..but i dont know if it is from the rotors or not

My local vendor asked me which model # is my front rotors
26300 AE071, 26310 AC060, 26300 AE02B

He gave me bunch of the # but I have absolutely no idea for mine.
all I know my car is 2002...

I am just wondering what is the size for 02 stock front rotors OR the model # so I can tell my local vendor

either the brembo blanks or slotted...

slotted would bite a little harder, and would cool better... thats what I will be getting next...

but the blanks will be fine...

Also- try Hawk HP+ pads... holy shit.... they grip hard...

money saving tip: don't worry about the ATE..that stuff is going to cost you $40 for a full flush. It's super ncie fluid and all, but over kill for even light auto-x.

check some of the places like napa, schucks, etc....they have DOT4 fluid for waaaayy cheaper and they are made by a name brand manufacturer. napa's is made by pennzoil

terrance do you mean HP+ or HPS? They're two types of compounds.

I think a few of the wrx autocrossers like running Valvoline syntech in their lines. Just as good as the ATE for that application.

I'm very happy with my EBC sport rotors and Hawk HPS setup. The rotors are noisy though, but I kinda like the sound so it doesn't bug me.

what kind of noise are you talking about?

I asked Chris from TSC for brembo blanks...he said there is no listing for my front rotors :S

I am currently looking for brembo blanks...my local vendor asked me to double check with the model # of my front rotors.

From the Brembo listing, it seems like they only carry rotors for these 3 model #s below:

26300 AE071, 26310 AC060, 26300 AE02B

However, my stock front rotors are 26300 AE00.

My question is, which one of the 3 model #s is same as mine so I can get my replacement?

Thanks

Probably a whirring/low grinding sound when you brake. I have that too w/ my slotted/x-drilled rotors (insert rant here )

What year/model is your BE? If it's an 00-02 it's using the same 10.x" rotor as the old BD's and impreza RS's. 03-04 Legs GT got two different brake setups in the front.

Really, the best way to do it is just take off your wheel and measure the rotor diameter with a ruler. It's really hard to confuse the two sizes.

Ya pretty much the smae but mines a little higher pitched. Kinda remind me of the sound of an electric remote control car that's going fast and then you take off the throttle and let it slow down, but less intense and faster.

Its not a bad sound, its just something you'll have to live with, with that style of rotor. I only got them because I found them cheaper than the Brembo blanks and they seemed to have good reviews from people who had them.

I swear.. I should get those rotors with you from the last group buy...now I regret so muchhhh!!!!

It is SO HARD to find brembo blanks for my car. I am no kidding.
I dont want to buy from states cause I have to pay duty..which is something that I will have no idea they will charge me for.

Have you warped your stock rotors?

If it's just for normal street driving, I would just buy a set of NAPA rotors for like $50/pair. Pad selection and fluid is more important for a street-driven car (even for one that's autox like mine is).

Oh yeah, since you don't seem to want to measure your rotors, it's probably 10.x like the BD, and Impreza RS. Just got to whatever store and say you want rotors for a 98 Legacy or 98 Imreza 2.5RS.

I am going to measure my rotors tomorrow when I have the time...
