There was a beautiful Legacy STi at the Subaru TDC Dyno Day yesterday. I'm not sure if anyone else knows the guy (from Mass) but the car was absoultely stunning. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to him but I took some shots of his whip. It was definately one of my favorite cars there.

That is really hot. I think that the wheels are either some prodirve P1s or maybe some rota g-forces but its hard to tell. There are so many different kinds of wheels out there.

Not bad - I'd ditch the eyelids and instead blackout the headlight bezels (paint the chrome, they have projectors as standard anyway).
Add some diff colored wheels for impact, possibly too much black on black for my taste.
Was it running an STi engine, or just badged that way?

STI engine w and even nicer turbo. I'll try to find out what numbers he was putting down as his was dynoed right before I got there (late :-( )

Did he blow his original engine? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the block was the same, just the TMIC and turbo are different?

You sure it is a STI Leg? It looks like a US Leg with STI badges on it.

Definately hot - I would ditch the eyelids though.

I think there's a few other differences with the block, earning the 205 designation instead of the 207 designation.

Hmm, even if this was the case. There are plenty of new Leg GT and Forrester folks putting down some serious horsepower that matches or exceeds the STI without issues.
Unless this fellow blew up his original motor, I still wouldn't see why he swapped his engine considering the costs involved.

I'd imagine it was probably just a shortblock swap - would've been easy.
oh, and a correction:
I meant 255 and 257 not 205 and 207
