i was just about ready to order my suspension but since i am sorta new to this i would really like some second opinions. I have been reading about the kyb gr2s and whiteline springs on this forum for about a month now and think that might be the best way to go. but i still have some questions. how difficult is it to install them yourself or is it best just to have some one do it. and also if i get 17in wheels how much will the gap decrease? any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 17" wheel won't decrease the gap unless you get a tire profile that is bigger than your stock tire/wheel combo size.

See here:

What WILL decrease the gap is the springs.

You should be able to copy the BD/BG instructions on the front suspension, and the rears I believe there is a writeup somewhere on replacing.

If you're not comfortable doing it, I would just order the parts, and have a suspension shop install and do an alignment.

PS. put the car model and year in your signature - it'll help us.

It's not that bad switching out the suspension. You'll need an air wrench for the spring compressors, but thats about it. If the white line springs have dead coils in them like my eibachs, I can compress them half an inch by hand to get the top nuts installed.

Just be sure you order KYB's and the springs for your model year, because yours is the only one that has a different suspension setup.

k. so after settling about how much do whiteline control springs drop the car. hopefully not drastically like the teins (from what i hear). im trying to decide between the whitelines and h&r's. yeah i will prolly take it some place. though i would like to learn how to. thanks

The Whiteline Control springs are supposed to be a 30mm drop. The H&Rs are more like 50mm. I liken Whiteline to King Springs, which are performance/look orientated and intended to be used with stock struts.

KYB.com has a full parts catalog for you.

I'm currently running whiteline control springs in the rear and they are pretty stiff compared to stock! I had JDM pink springs in the rear but they were too low, and now the whiltelines lifted the ass end up to a reasonable height. The rear springs definitely don't cause much drop. I have no idea what the fronts do as I'm still running the JDM pinks up there.

'JDM pink' = Impreza springs or Legacy fitment?
