ps. i love my L bumper! its more proportioned to the car than an outback bumper IMO. sooooo :razz:

Looks great! I like the flat black! Some dark gold/bronze wheels would look sharp on there as well. I'd say leave the roof rack off if you have the holes filled over. The GT hood looks great matched with the L bumper. Now i know what I should expect mine to look like lowered.

Those are "bronze" gram lights ;). they might look light in pics. the holes arent welded shut yet so thats why im contemplating. i actually have the 3 grip "fins" going down the roof installed haha. it kinda looks HARD. reminds me of the fins on an EVO!

Ahh i see. Yea now that i think about it I've seen all kinds of bugs and buses primered or flat black in LA. What got me was seein an EVO all flat black! now thats gangster. The strips are just the 3 flat pieces that go in the middle of the roof rack so that bags n such dont slip around. I'll get more pics up this weekend :)

And as I said on nastysock, I WANNA RIP THIS OFF SO HARD! But seriously, my brother has been trying to get me to go flat black since I got the car (since it's all dented up). Now that I've seen it on a wagon it's very tempting! Sounds like you may have started a new trend among legacies.

The JDM stuff looks great on there too, loving the color match on the grill. Been thinking of doing gloss black on mine since all the chrome is chipping off :cry:

Looks good. I've actually been thinking about doing the same with my Outback, should I decide to keep it. Maybe keep the WRX wheels I have painted gold, just to leave a little color standoff.....meh, I'm probably to lazy to get it done, though.

I like the ride. I really like the GT hood w/ the L bumper. Flat black works pretty well for your car.

Excellent choice on wheels, I've always been a big fan of 57s's. I think you should leave the roofrack off as well.

Very unique, well done. I think it would look really sweet with the rear roof spoiler that some of the GT's/Outbacks had & getting the rear badges either put back on or filling the holes.

im fine with rack either way, i like sybir's car with the rack. and i did mention that i have the gt/outback spoiler to install ;). i just have to drill some holes for it. i'll be putting the rear badge on painted black or i'll have something made to put there. thanks for the kind words! :grin:

I think racks visually lower a car; I took my Yakima bars off and the car just "needed" something up top, I didn't like the smooth look (and that was even with the factory rails in place. The L/GT rails are shorter, though, so I could see why you might want to shave them in this case and go with a different setup.

There's a little bit of "yeah, this car can do everything" on a hooked up car with a full rack setup. I love passing people in twisties with two kayaks strapped to the roof@

That wag looks hot in flat black; all my trim (lights, grills, rubstrips, racks, hood scoop) is satin black, but I haven't given into doing the whole car yet, so much respect for being the first to do it the right way with a gun and 2-step paint :D

its holding up fine. i just need to do a light light LIGHT color sand and buff to even things out. like you all know or should know, flat black is hard to keep clean. it spots up easily and gets dirty quick. but so do most dark colors. it looks GREAT clean so go for it i say.

if you want an easy color (to keep clean) go with white or silver! pansies hahaha :grin:

Or, if you really wanted to, you could put a double or triple layer of the 5% film and it'd get pretty close to 0%.

in regards to doubling up 5%. that would be such a pain around the window edges. i doubt it would come out looking clean

It won't be the easiest job doubling up the film on the back glass but it all depends upon the skill of the window tinter shrinking the film then installng it.

After the film is shrunk and ready to install, the installer would be able to tell if it will work once he starts installing the second piece. If the film was shrunk properly, it should lay flat on all the edges with no problem.

But if he sees it's not going to work, the second layer can be easily taken off and that time without ruining the first layer of film that is already installed on the glass.

gotta change the tophats. look at sybir's member's ride and he'll explain it for ya.

Yep, pretty straightforward. Just swap the left and right tophats on the front coilovers, you'll end up with something pretty close to ~90% camber adustment (lateral) with a ~10% caster adjustment (longitudinal). Not a big enough change tomake a difference.

Car looks great, man. Kill that last chrome window strip and it'll be perfect.

I keep debating going satin olive green when I finally decide to do something about my hashed paint. I love the flat paint.

I put the headlights in a while back, just never updated. There's a little fender rubbage that messed up the front fenders a tad. fixable. I think i may
be selling this thing soon in favor of my new '99 Impreza i picked up. Im
hoping i can keep both! This thing is super dirty as you can see by the wheels.
I still need to install the fogs, rear spoiler and rear gt brakes. I did get to install 2005 GT brakes on the front. The comparison to my Impreza is amazing!!
It almost looks like a big brake kit :p

sorry to bring this thread back up but,that is a nice car, glad you took care of it and happy that you sold it me. If you want an update on this car, well i havent done much to it basically just the sparkplug wires, plugs, battery, the rota you provided me with and just about vacuumed and washed it. I still need to fix the shifter joint, and i plant to get new wheels and tires just not sure what wheels to get though. Thats the update,ill take very good care of her

I don't know much about tinting, but under the assumption that tinting is done only to one side of the glass, couldn't you tint the inside and the outside of the windows?

I meant to achieve a darker than 5% tint. I realize that it would not be a good idea on a normal basis.

You get special film for outside-tinting. Mostly used on hard to tint rear windows. Or other windows with odd angles.
