126,000mi, bubbling black coolant full of hydrocarbons.
while driving along it bucked like a bad shift ya know? i thought it was odd, but whatever, i was in traffic in warwick, well i turn to go to school and it bogs down bad, almost stalled even out of gear, i was like wtfm8?
nurse it the half mile or so to school, get the tester from the tool crib and sure enough, mucho hydrocarbons. HG blew from the combustion chamber to the coolant jacket.
here's the situation breakdown.
i'm leaving for NC tomorrow.
headgasket blew.
sucks, puts the bronco in jeopardy and of course i'm out the subaru.
on the brighter side:
valve cover gaskets were leaking fairly bad, as were other top-end gaskets, so that'll all be fixed.
i'm gone a week so i'll not need the car, we're taking the civic, when i get back i'm riding with another guy to the job site, he can pick me up, and i can bum tori's car to go to school the one or two nights i won't have mine.
i'm going to NC, so i can get parts from kent at prestiege, a better price and a great place to deal with.
of the 10 or so 350mi trips from here to western mass and back and the 8 or so 2500mi+ round trips to NC... it decided to blow right here in town.
...and my credit card has no interest for 5 more months.
that's why i'm not bugging out.
