Finally got my ebay intake installed a couple weeks ago but it keeps tripping a P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance Problem code.
1. What exactly does this mean?
2. How do I make it go away?
I've been otherwise happy. The sound is a little louder than a snorkusectomy and the mileage has gone up(28-30mpg at 80 on the interstate).

Air turbulence in the intake probably.

You may need a longer tube or smoother bends.

Sounds like you may have a leak in your intake.

Make sure everything is hooked up correctly. Post a few pics for us. Make sure they are large enough so we can really see everything.

a quick search of nasioc turned up http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpos ... tcount=119 (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4652875&postcount=119)

looks like an easy fix. should be worth a shot.

Good call. One of the hoses in that system got unplugged during the install. Definitely explains the CEL. Thanks

Actually, I don't think it does.

Did you reset your ECU after installing this? You changed something major in the system, and it's affected the airflow, which is making the ECU throw fits. If you reset it, you should be fine.

I reset it as I was installing it. It sat with the battery unplugged for 3+ hours cause I went and watched a movie before I drove it.

Thing is it worked fine when I drove home from school (250 miles) for the weekend but on the way back it tripped a CEL. I installed the aluminum shroud at home which is when the hose probably got unplugged.

Oh, okay, well, try the hose, although I wouldn't think it would cause that code. Reset it again, and see how long it takes to come back (if it does).

I threw this code today. Installed my intake last night, drove it to work, no CEL. Hopped in to drive somewhere at work, P0106. I cleared it with my Scangauge and will check my hoses tonight.

Will this cause any problems with the car?

I think the problem may be that one of the new hoses that came with the intake is a bit short and got pinched where it connects to the intake. I haven't looked under the hood yet though.

Nevermind, just went out and popped the hood. The white-spongy-thingy disconnected. Should be all set now, assuming it stays connected.

you unplugged your maf so theres a malfunction code, plug it back in and then remove the batery terminal pump the brakes or the gas a ocuple times and wait 15-45 seconds and then re attach the battery terminal and drive the car, the light hsold go away after 40 mile driving under 60 miles perhour.
