So i found out yesterday that there is a 94 legacy sedan within 2 miles of me that is for sale, a friend of mine stopped and asked the seller about it. She said she doesnt want much for it, and that she would sell it for next to nothing. I havent looked at it yet, but the seller told him that the transmission is acting up, third gear to be exact.

i am very tempted to get it. im going to go look at it friday. ill keep you guys updated when i find out more

On noes, not third gear!

Most probably a syncro. I'd say, unless it likes to catch on fire and it leaks oil like crazy, and the body is straight, grab it.

i was supposed to talk to the lady selling it today, i went by and looked at it today though.

no leaks that i could see, and its been sitting a while. body is decent, a rust spot on the hood, metal molding around the top of the windows looks bad, rear seats rotting a little on the backs of the headrests, shifter knob missing.

hopefully sunday ill get to drive it.

i figure a gear fluid change and maybe a new clutch right off the bat and see what happens after that.

ok so i got to look at it today inside and engine bay. it has 318000 miles and no oil spots under the car, this is a family owned car, sister bought it new gave to the twin sister. maintanence kept up very well. missing the shifter knob and pipe the shifter screws onto.

she said three or four hundred but i could give an offer tomorrow after i drive it.

Well if it doesn't leak, and its the original owner thats a good find. If you have the VIN, I'll run it for you I still have the carfax subscription.

ok i got to drive the car today, third is iffy, 4th is toasted. front driver side cv axle is bad....clicking and popping when turning. she has all of the stuff i need to put the gear shifter knob and stuff back on, but the middle console pieces are fudged up and moves around when the bopot is attached. the engine sounds great. barely has a tick. it ran perfect, but the tranny definately has problems.

and its a 1990 not a 94 found that out the other day, so i think im gonna offer her 150, it needs tires and the tranny is bad and the axle needs replacing. would that sound fair if she said around 300 and told me i could make her an offer?
