I got a buddy that has all the stock suspension from his 02 wrx how much of it will fit a 97 legacy sedan?

btw how much of a drop is it the wrx struts are shorter aren't they? cus I actually like the way its sitting with the sagging springs but it handles like a old 1970 caddy

It's not quite as simple - the WRX struts might not have as much suspension travel underneath the car... will it lower the car? I don't know, but it's unlikely to.

I replaced 4 blown struts on my GT sedan with KYB GR-2s and the car now actually rides a little higher than it did.

I've only seen STi suspension lower the BD/BG, I don't think WRX suspension will lower it much.

I don't think the WRX suspension will have much of a ride height difference, but it will be stiffer than the Legacy suspension.

oh well I'd rather that the car turn than just look good

I hate to seem like a tool, but this must be the 4th one of these questions in like 2 weeks. Mark, If I made a post about the ride hight change, could you sticky it?

The front gains suspension travel, the rear looses some. Both front and rear are stiffer, but enough weight in the rear will cause rubbing. Your car will sit basically level, but it will look like the rear is sagging because the rear tire well has a squared-off top. I liked the handling, but it took too long for the nose to drop into the corners at the auto-x's. That's why I put my S-techs on, and now I'm just switching to coil overs because it's toooo low, and the ride is pretty harsh.

EDIT: Here's the diagram I made for stock legacy sedan to stock wrx sedan I hope this helps. And sorry if I seemed pissy.

ok, a little off, but what does a GC suspension do to your ride height then? (if REX keeps it nearly the same)

What about a GC Outback Sport Wagon suspension?

The wrx springs lowered the bd pretty nicely. the wheel gap is about a inch in the front and inch and a half in the back looks realllllly good. doesn't bottom out at all

How bout some pics of the wrx springs on your BD? I just picked up some wrx springs w/tophats for cheap from a local NASIOC member. I plan to swap springs and tophats only to see what results I get.

I'm pretty sure you'll need the spring perches for a WRX for the springs to seat into.

wait a minute... I thought WRX springs made the 95-99 legacy ride HIGHER ???

The front does ride higher, at least it did on mine. Hence the above diagram. That was with brand new struts, however.

Also, I do not think the WRX springs will fit on the legacy struts because they have different sized/shaped perches on the struts.

Post pics please. With all the misinfo about what works with what, a pic is the only way to prove what actually does work.

Try reading a bit too before you start demanding pics of something a lot of people have already done.

Whose demanding pics??? I simply asked him to support his claim with pics. For every claim that the wrx susp doesnt work there are those that say it does. Easiest way to prove it is with pics.

if a wrx suspension fits on a Bd then would a wagon wrx suspension fit on and support the load of a BK/BG and all fit up nicely in another tread a guy ued up front WRX springs and struts but the back sagged so he was thinking STI springs for the rear would it work :-?

the thing is the fronts of the legacy and wrx are close to the same but the back of a wrx wagon and a legacy wagon are a good bit different as far as weight. I'd be willing to bet that if you used wrx springs on legacy struts that you would be ok. the wrx struts themselves are actually shorter than the legacy by at least a inch. I had pics on my old phone before it crapped out of when I was swapping suspension bit around to show the difference in overall height of the the two
