Was browsing through ebay and happened across this little part. It even comes with a boot, which is probably junk, but the shifter itself looks ok. Compared to the $200+shipping for the B&M Short Throw, this isn't half bad. Hope this helps someone out.

How hard are you shifting??

There's some guys on RS25 who are using that style of shift boot on their cars, and they really don't look that bad in pictures. As far as fading over time and stuff, I dunno, but hey, Mark made his own so it can't really be THAT hard, can it? :smt002

It's made out of 303 stainless steel. It's almost like 304 but it machines more easily. You ain't going to snap steel shifting Hercules  aluminum, well that's a different story.

Bah, Aluminum has so many different alloys, it's simply inaccurate to judge it by one shifter, Shane.

anyways, I say go for it, and tell us how on earth you got the stock shifter out of there without destroying the ball on the end of it

I'm aware of the different aluminum alloys. I did not say all aluminum shifters will snap. But I would trust a SS over one. I seen 2 aluminum shifters snap one was APC and the other was a no name off ebay.
