Bumper stickers on rear window - how to remove?

Hi there,

I have a bumper sticker with graphics that got rubbed out one day as the result of washing the car. It was a clear bumper sticker - the graphics on the sticker came off, and the clear backing still remains.

I want to peel the sticker off, but it kind of comes off in chunks. I DO NOT want to have at it with a knife or something that might mess up the glass and the heating elements. (I put bumper stickers on my rear windshield so I don't put them on my bumpers, don't like that myself.)

Anybody run into this problem before? Suggestions are appreciated.

Grab a hair drier and start heating it up. Sunbaked stickers will almost always be hard to get off. Grab a bottle of a goo gone to take care of the residue that's left over. I used a heat gun and a pair of leather welding gloves to take the stickers off the sides of my 87 toyota pickup, and those were seriously baked on.

Hey I know what you mean.. You mean to car parked right outside with the clear sticker.. yea. .go get the goo gone out that is under the sink in the KIT

Is it on the inside (where the rear defrost elements are) or the outside? If it's on the outside, just get a razor blade scraper and have at it. It's almost impossible for you to do any damage. If it's on the inside, good luck.

ivwarrior is right, if it's on the outside all you need is a flat edge razor blade and 3 mins of your time. No need for a scavenger hunt.

Go easy with the razor blade, and it's good to use a combination of dishwashing liquid or Meguiars instant detailer to help lube the surface...

yeah, just use window cleaner and a razor blade. no big deal its nearly impossible to do any damage to the glass. this is what we do at the dealership.

heat gun and goo gone for a sticker? :lol:
scrape that ish off yo! even on the inside of the glass. with a steady hand and a clean razor blade you can skim over the defrosters. i had to do this for an old parking permit. of course, soap, window cleaner spray, or just simply water will help.

How do you think they get the old inspection stickers off every year?? Ye Ol' Razor :grin: .
