For those who don't visit nasioc - my dyno results

I'm very happy with my results. What I forgot to post on Nasioc.

For a few weeks, I've had this strange nagging feeling that my car didn't feel as fast. When I pulled up to PDXTuning, they noticed that the small intercooler hose was slipping off. They promptly fixed it before doing my dyno runs.

I definately feel a return of power. I was attributing it to having my car too long. You know, if you buy a loud stereo or hometheater system, eventually you think you need more power. :smile:

Wow! That's a really smooth power curve. Usually when I see turbo car plots its so uneven from off turbo to on turbo. Oh and more power is always good :lol:

It kind of makes me laugh when new STI owners talk about Turbo lag. Perhaps they've never driven a turbo car before.

I've always felt the STI 2.5 with AVCS just feels like a bigger engine.

It pulls nicely from down low all the way to redline. Unless I'm in a high gear and I just mash the throttle I don't really feel any turbo lag at all.

Now my Mom's old Mazda 626, that thing had some serious turbo lag. :grin:

What are you running for A/Fs? When do you hit full boost, and how many pounds?

Those are some great results. Congrats.Not sure for A/Fs, but I'm running a stock STI ecu, so I think that is around 15lbs of boost?

I wanted this as a baseline before I started monkeying with anything else, like a ECU flash, or swapping turbo's, etc.

Stock STI is around 240 but small changes can make big differences. this is mine after CAI, TBE, and a protune.

Some of the dyno's I've seen STI's were around 235hp.

I have a full TurboXS turboback exhaust. 4" down to a 3" and one high flow cat. So that is mostly the difference. I'm still running the stock airbox.

I had this exhaust installed during the whole swap, so I was kind o curious to what I was making. I had this strange concern that the exhaust didn't really help at all, but it seem to be decent upgrade.

Different dynos will read differently on the same cars...they're not an exact, universal thing yet, so you can't really compare a dyno from one machine to that of another, even if it's the same car being dynoed.

PDXTuning are usually fairly accurate. Tim is well-renowned in the US market. They deal a lot with MustangDyno too.

GrassyKnoll, What CAI and TBE did you use? I'm just curious. Also what engine managment are you using?

I'm hoping for numbers near what your car is making when I do decide to do the flash.

What I was meaning to say is that comparing Ken's Mustang Dyno done at PDX to Grassy's Dyno done at TDC isn't fair. Two completely different locations, likely different elevations, temps, blah blah blah. They all effect a dyno reading. I like both dyno's though, and would gladly take either car if one of the owners wanted to fork one over to me. :grin:
