How difficult would it be to swap an entire rear WRX suspension setup into a BK? I know it would require swapping the Xmember, but is there anything else required? Just curious at this point, but maybe, in the future, I'll be able to do this, along with a STi motor/tranny swap. Probably before, seeing how I trashed my front left suspension the other day. Rally-style jumps ftw!

Gas tanks are different also - the rear suspension in terms of struts will bolt in with minimal trouble.

WRX/STi suspension won't protect you much more from air-landings... you would need specific rally-suspension for that.

I wouldn't be doing air landings without upgrading to a rally suspension, including a huge lift, anyway.

struts/springs are easy. Stuff like sway bars will have different lengths due the the differences in the width of the cars. Japanese GC wrx stuff will fit the front end of your car fine, but not the rear.

Ummm ... let me get this straight: the Impreza Suspension fits into the Legacy? Really?

I know that the Impreza stuff fits into the Forester, but the Legacy?

Not your Legacy - rear suspension ain't the same.

But the chassis design on the 1st and 2nd gen Legacies and the 1st gen Impreza were pretty much the same, and the suspension designs remained the same for a while.

Sarra, i saw BG/BK "heavy load" wagon springs somewhere. They were really stiff, there were warnings in the catalog saying that the rear end will slide with no load on the back. I can't remember what catalog they were in for the life of me.

Hah, I don't need to carry a heavy load, nor do I want the rear end swinging around on it's own. I want an adjustable system, and I want to convert to multilink rear. :-(

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense, to me, a spring moves primarily in an up/down fashion, a sway bar controls rollover and side-side movement.

The firmer a spring the more resistance to sag and the more it will "bounce" over undulating ground. AFAIK IMVHO.

it was a stock sized spring with thicker metal coils. Designed to stop a heavily loaded rear (as in cargo) from resting the rear on the bump stops.
