So for awhile, I had this strange nagging feeling that my car was slower. I attributed it to just having my car for awhile, and growing accustomed to my power. It turns out that the intercooler hose was loose.

That was discovered on my Dyno run.

I've also had this small voice telling me that my car feels like it is wallowing around a bit. The handling just didn't feel very good.

It turns out, that my heavy duty front swaybar, ripped free from the mount on my control arms. Yes, my front swaybar has been floating, so it's like I have no front swaybar right now.

I found that out this weekend.

Oh well, I'm parking my car until I can source some GC8 control arms. I guess the mounting tabs for the end links are a lot stronger than our stock Legacy control arms.

STi alum control arms FTW...

Or...at least consider increasing your track width with some common stamped WRX (sedan) control arms... The original Leggy and GC control arms are the narrow...

Yeah I was told the new arms would push my wheels out a bit more.

1) I'm concerned about the wheel rubbing.

2) If I push out the front's shouldn't I push out the rear wheels as well? (If that is possible?).

The common stamped WRX sedan arms would be wider (perfect fitment for wrx sedan front axle upgrade)

The 04+ STi arms would be the widest. I use these and yes it does push the front track out considerably where you’d need to roll your front fender lips and run some additional nego-camber to prevent tire rubbing… but the extra width is awesome

PS: want my old original LGT front arms as replacements? Doesn't get you any performance impact other then cheap and available...

I've committed to a buy on ebay from some aluminum GC8 arms. I guess I could back out, but I'll probably just stick with these arms, and not have to worry about wheel rubbing etc.

ALL EJ Subarus pre-GD have the same control arms. From the 90 BC to the 01 GC, they're the same. In fact, I believe if you put in any part number for any of those cars, they will all supercede to the same number.

So, yes. GC control arms will work.

Just out of curiosity; what front turbo cross-member do you have? Obviously if you were running the original Legacy control arms, the GC ones will fit for the front bushing, but I’m curious if you are shimmed or not (i.e. wrx+ crossmember).

Oh, non-USDM stuff I dunno. But as far as USDM stuff, yes. I looked.
