Thought I would share the info from ALLDATA.
I have only paid for my car 2002 Legacy GT LTD. So if any of you have that same year and style and want to know anything let me know and I can look it up on ALLDATA for you.

Really? ALLDATA.com it is a site that you have to pay for but if you do you will get everything you can imagine about your car.

I was talking to my mechanic recently, and he says they use alldata at the dealership over FSMs for any serious work. The latter are inacurate for 00+ leegacys and a hell to navigate through for 95-99 legacys.

You didn't answer Mark's question. Can you get service manuals from this site?

How about inquiries on other cars? :grin:

His question wasn't there when i posted my response. yes you can get service manuals. For 1 year and one car it is a one time fee of 24.99. To add a car it will be 14.99. for one year. I only paid to see my car.
It isn't like carfax or anything like that. It tells you the basics about your model and make of car. I hope I am being clear. You can also get your ECU pin out too. Which was the main reason I paid for it.

When viewing the data is there a way to download it (PDF's?) I suspect not.

Some of those factory service manuals are darn pricey.

Well for our Subaru's we can find a Haynes manual.

My wife's Lexus, well I guess they don't suspect the average Lexus owner wants to work on their car. So there isn't any aftermarket manual that I know.

My only alternative is to buy the factory manual, and from what I recall, it is VERY expensive.

It would be nice to have the factory manual for a full breakdown of how to take apart the dash, and all points for lubrication, etc. for example a 60k mile service.

enh, I don't look at the technical stuff, but the basics are there, and the diagrams and pictures help.
