Well I went to autozone to finnaly check my CEL out. It was the P0325.. determined that a malfuntion exits in the electrical circuit for knock sensor 1.
Im not sure if this means i have a knock or its just the sensor. Has anyone had this problem and should i try to replace the sensor? Hope my engine is not on its way out!

my first concern would not be the engine, don't freak out about that.

you say it's the electrical circuit. get a wiring diagram and start looking. check commections, voltage drop all over, and resistance on the ground side.

look up any spec you can get for the sensor itself and test for that... could be ohms, volt passage (could allow or create voltage when there's a knock to tell the ECU...)

research.

I'd try to see if the electrical connector isn't dirty or damaged.

ok well ill have someone check it out with more knowledge, also i have a weired sound coming from engine area...dont know if its heat shields or maybe a beginning of a knock. When my friend got a knock on his car you could hear it and tell it was a knock. It was also a dif. engine (DOHC 2.0 Turbo). Ill get it checked and post on what i find if anyone is to have this problem.

i have this problem. cept my wires are solder to hell when a co worker accidently ripped off the wires to the knock sensor. Now the MIL comes on and off.

But i do have a knock tho...sometimes

I had my mechanic look just to see if anything looked bad, he said the some little animal was prob living in my engine bay sometime in the winter because some of my insalation was messed with near my knock sensor. He said sometimes they also tend to chew wires and could have chewed the wires to the sensor. He is not that good with electrical work and said the other guy could do it but might charge a lot of $$ to do the diagnostics. Should i get this done or should I go ahead and try to get it rewired and maybe a new sensor? Also he said electrical can become a very expensive, is this true? Also does anyone know how much this would prob cost to redo the wiring for the sensor?

Get a new sensor, they are prone to crack. Don't bring it back to that guy, he sounds like a moron... "some of my insulation was messed with near my knock sensor" haha

Its funny that he says that, because there was deffinitely a mouse living where the knock sensor is located in mine. My car sits for a couple days at a time sometimes, and its a perfect spot for a little critter to stay. My CEL came on with the same code, and I checked it, sure enough the wires were chewed at. There was about 2 inches of mouse shit in that space, plus some acorn shells.

I'm telling you its seriously simple to do, its about $60 for the part at the dealership. I have no idea where its located though, now I see that yours is a 2.5, so it could be in a different area.

Here is a pic of what a new one should look like, granted this may be a little different than yours. At the end of the wire, is just a plug, you press the button to unplug, and it comes right out. My old one was chewed, and around the bolt was all cracked. Can still see remnants of the mouse droppings. There was so much crud in there, you couldn't even see the sensor.

I actually have a little baggie of about 15 of these little guys because they ALWAYS CRACK and they ALWAYS go out.... well mines been good for about 8 months now.... but since i said something....

When i go to the junkyard, i just grab a bunch, because they're like 70 bucks new!!!
