Would it be possible to convert a 2.0TT motor to use a supercharger and turbo? In other words, twin charge it? Or would the weight of the supercharger, piping, and supporting mods for the SC make it not worth the time?

yes it is possible, it has been done to a suby motor before. but no its not worth your time. twin charging is a PITA plain and simple. its better to go one way or the other.

A guy here in town has done that. (nasioc screen name reddevil)

He makes lots of power low with the supercharger and high with the turbo but he has issues with the supercharges at high rpms so he is trying to figure out how to turn off the supercharger at higher rpms. Its alot off hassle and custom fab work.

I agree, make the twin turbo work. Re route the exhaust and turbos. Something like Phatsuby is doing with his H6.

Doug was using an EJ22 NA motor, though. His new setup is better built...

If it's a huge PITA, then I'll just stick with a supercharger. Might have to step up to a pair of superchargers, though, as a single M112 won't have enough oomph for what I want, I don't think...

And Doug needs to find an electromagnetic clutch. He should have it setup to automatically kick out the supercharger at a certain RPM, and only kick it back in when it drops under that RPM.

And speaking of Superchargers, I need to learn more about how my M62 works so I can hook it up. =\ I know a lot about how turbos work, but almost nothing about superchargers.

^ i highly doubt u need 2 super chargers, just change the pully size if you want more power. as for how they work, www.howstuffworks.com (http://www.howstuffworks.com) is always a good place to start.

Superchargers have redlines as well. On, say, an STi, if you built it, in order to make 30 psi of boost, you would have to go past the supercharger's redline, and then some. So, two of them... A supercharger, like the M62 I have, should be good for a few PSI... If I can get a CR lowering HG, I can probably do 6-8 PSI using the SC I have now...

Pm Jedi taxi. Him and I have already mapped out how to properly supercharge an ej motor using ethier an m62 or m90 (need a different pulley size to lessen boost on an m90). Also, thought about an m45 because it creates an almost correct amout of boost ,but it's harder to mount, and more expensive.

I was going to supercharge my legacy (and possibly develop a kit), then recently found a tdo5 and FMIC in excelent shape...for very little money.

I'm gonna use an M62. I've already got it, and if I can built the lower end properly, I can get a little more out of it with a larger pulley.
