Hi.

I got this bumper, but it doesn't have an actual bumper reinforcement like the one I took off. Basically, it is just a bumper cover with the bracket that gets bolted to the car. I tried to use the bumper support/foam pad from my old bumper, but it doesn't fit. It doesn't even seem to be made for a bumper support. Is this normal for JDM or am I missing a piece? There is no way this thing will stand up to a 5mph impact and I don't feel to good about it, especially how I drive.

Will the support from a USDM GT car work or is this JDM specific?

Thanks

You may need the bumper beam from the JDM car.

JDM cars (or non-USDM) don't have a 5mph bumper. You can redrill new mounting points, or get a JDM bumper beam.

This thing doesn't even have a place for a bumper beam to be bolted to...atleast not a place I could see. Have you ever seen this done before (redrilling mounting points) or is this just an idea?

Any ideas where to get a JDM bumper beam?

JHOT on ebay might have a new beam...

You should also check out Pat Olsen's threads on NASIOC...

I'm not conjecturing, because it's been done.
