S-AFC installation?

he guys i just got a s-afc and i want to put it in my 96 legacy. its a 2.2 usdm and ive been scouring the web on a wiring diagram to splice into my ecu. and i cant find one for the 2.2. also they all say s-afc 2 and i just have the s-afc. can any one help me out? or post a diagram or if someones already did it speak up. i know that our ecu are self- learning but i want in in any ways. im prepared to reset my ecu every week. :razz: thanks guys

But he's right. Suby's have a 'self-learning' ECU that will change whatever your AFC is trying to override.

Given that you're prepared to reset your ECU every week, then the SAFC or any AFC will wire in just like any other - it's a piggyback, so you'll want to tap into the wires that tell the ECU how much airflow, and fuel is being delivered.

hey food for thought. The s-afc uses a high and low throttle map (user set to switch between diferent fuel adjustment maps depending on throttle position).

Can you just set the low throttle map (say set for anything below 60% throttle) to not perform any fuel changes? That way the ecu cannot learn any changes during part throttle (ecu reading the O2 sensor) since there is no change in fuel delivery.

And since the ecu doesn't look at the O2 sensor at WOT, can you then have the high throtttle map lean or richen the mixture out? Would this be a way to keep the ecu from negating any hp increases you get at WOT?
