Well I am in the midst of parting my 92 SS. On Saturday a guy came and grabbed some parts off the front end. It started on Saturday during the time he was here, but I did not start it when he left.

Went to pull more parts yesterday. When I was done went to start it to move it, and now it doesnt start.

Battery is fine. When I turn the key I hear a very slight sound (click?) inside the cab, but it doesnt sound like it is even close to trying to start. I also notice some noise coming from near the abs stuff in the psgr front engine compartment area when the key is turned as well.

Only thing I can guess is something got disconnected between Saturday and yesterday. I was trying to removed the shifter asembly to get to the carpet and wiring underneath, so I am wondering if it has to do with the automatic shifter. I believe I have the shifter back the way it is supposed to be, but it made no difference.

Any ideas/suggestions? I really need to move the car from where I have been storing it at work. My boss wants it gone (funny how a stripped vehicle isn't really desired).

Thanks, I appreciate it.

when you say the battery is fine, does this mean the cables too? maybe the cables are loose or dont have a clean connection...

Maybe that guy took a vital part when you weren't looking. See if your coil pack is still on. Does it turn over? Does it whine and die? We made need to know a little more info to help you out.

sounds like the starter solinoid to me.

Messing with the automatic shifter, battery is fine, just hear a click when you turn the key...

Sounds like a neutral safety switch problem, does that car have one? It prevents engines from starting unless the shifter is in park or neutral, sometimes called a prndl switch.

Jedi's probably right. It probably needs a starter.

Play with the ignition switch. Turn it to Start about 10 times rapidly in succession. You'll probably get it to make contact enough to crank it over.

If it is the starter, have somebody turn the key to start and hit it with a hammer, just give it a good smack. I have used this plenty of times when I had a starter that was going out.

Well I just got it started a bit ago. Hooked up a momentary switch to the pos batt terminal and the starter solenoid.
