yeah....take the hubcaps off!

Ummmmm....not subaru ones. I can't recall seeing any other cars toolin' around with black wheels though, besides what's stated above. I don't know, sorry.

Why does it have to be stock?

I really liked the gold trim on a black car theme that Subaru pulled off so well with the '98 and '99 GT Limiteds. Reminded me of the "John Player Special" Lotus Grand Prix cars of the 1970ies and 1980ies.

The Polished alloy GT Limited wheels with the gold painted side spoke sections looked awesome with the black cars (although these wheels looked discusting on the Rio Red and Quick Silver Metallic colours).

Years ago at a Subaru meet someone from New York had stock pre-2001 Impreza RS wheels painted in gloss black with a simple red band painted around the outer edge that looked awesome as well.

If I knew how to post attached images here I could probably provide examples of both of these wheels.

I'd say with your black car, gold is going to look the nicest, but chrome is always a good neutral choice. Black on Black...well...it suits some people, but I don't think that's what you're going to want.

Yoy could always get your wheels powdercoated. Depending on where you go though you might end up spending on that than a new set of wheels. However I think that white wheels always compliment a black car.

If you like the GT wheels and want them black, take them somewhere to get powdercoated...it may cost you a little more but it'll be durable as all hell. Otherwise you could try painting it yourself (use something other than krylon!) I've seen people paint wheels before and its looked pretty nice. Honestly I'd grab a set of gold wheels over black. You gotta have some contrast...and black and gold looks sexy. I saw a black GC8 RS with the 5 spoke wheels (16x7) painted black...tooooo bland! Plus why would you want wheels that always look dirty! Either way it can be done, let us know how you make out!

i krylon'ed my winter wheels. 1 season and they look perfect. I sanded first with 100 grit and applied 3 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear.
