can an outback front bumper go right onto a legacy L wagon? (BH)

You'd have to trim the beam, IIRC, if you just want the skin. But you can bolt the beam up fine, yes. It's all the same chassis.
I'm looking to do this as well, but have not had any luck finding a bumper that's in good shape that isn't $180+100 shipping (what allsubaru wants for the unpainted bumper skin).

im not sure what you mean by skin and beam, what i want is the beefier front bumper with the foglights in it and everything. my father's a body man so i can the painting done to match my car for free basically.

those responding may want to look at the year of the OP's vehicle.
I've seen a GT BE with an outback bumper mounted. It was on nabisco. I do believe there is some under the bumper skin work needed. I don't think it swaps right over.

The skin is the part of the bumper that you see, the plastic, smooth paneling. The beam is what reinforces the skin and is what really does the work in a frontal or rear crash. The skin doesn't do a whole lot of protecting :lol:

i dont know if it fits but 00-04 outbacks have wider fenders i dont know if it increases bumper cover width or not, just a piece of info.
