Anyone have one? How's it sound? I need a muffler to pair with my new Header.

I do - sounds great. Fairly quiet, but more of a growl. Direct bolt on. If you search, I am sure there is a sound clip with one on a BE/BH here somewhere.

Keep in mind that it's the stock size piping, so you'd be creating a bottleneck at the end of the system if you're going full exhaust.

I want something just so I can hear my Borla-replica more. Something that wont draw unneeded attention, since I live in a state that prohibits "Any modification of exhaust muffler to amplify sound".
Now I just need to find it. Subie dealer couldnt tell me when it would come in, and wouldnt let me get a return if it took too long.

Then the SPT is what you want. I doubt theres any performance gains from it. You pretty much get a different sound once it breaks in.

you could always argue it's a factory option as well.

Just go STi take-off and have the hangers rewelded.

I think wisconsin has that kind of law?

Is it only the hangers? How far off are they?
Im trying to get a local STi owner to help me put on the Header, and I might buy his muffler off him also.
Would I be able to put the muffler on at home, then drive 5 miles to the exhaust shop?
As for hte law, it's Massachusetts (aka the new California)

You know, I have no real idea, but I was thinking the cavity under the car is big enough for the STi can, there's likely some flange rotation and potential hanger relocation to make it work.
I would just drive to the exhaust shop with the new muffler and have them custom fit it to your midpipe. Actually while you're there you might as well have them make up a new midpipe for you as well.
