Hey guys, i have a 98 gt BD 2.5 5spd. It has been running really rich for a while and i cant figure out what is causing it. I already replaced the fuel filter, plugs and wires, air intake, front 02 sensor and header. I tried sea foam but had no luck. I am going to run a diagnostic on it tonight. Any suggestions?? Thanks

How do you know it's running REALLY rich? Most Subaru's run rich stock.
If you are basing it off your MPG, most Subarus won't get more than 28-30mpg freeway.
If your MPG is suffering, are your wheels & tires at the right pressure, aligned properly and wearing correctly?
Also, very aggressive tread (sticky rubber) will result in lower MPG because it increases the friction between road and car.

for one thing the mpg does suck , and i mean bad, like 10 mpg. And i can also hear it back firing almost everytime i shift. The exhaust also smells real rich. Everything is aligned and correct. Maybe my cats are clogged or somthing

Any check engine lights? The PCV system can cause a rich condition, I dont know if it would make it that bad tho. I found this website, might help you http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/JULY/TECH2TEC.HTM Good luck!
