Last week I took a few day trips. When I got back on Sunday from the airport (picked my wife up from a business trip she took), I was actually quite tired. Now I realize why:

1. My apartment to a friend's house to hang out (Friday): 35 miles
2. Miscellaneous driving around (pizza place and movies): 10 miles
3. Friend's house to New Jersey: 135 miles
4. New Jersey back to my apartment: 100 miles
5. My apartment to church and back: roughly 20 miles
6. My apartment to Philadelphia International Airport and back: roughly 100 miles

7. Total miles: 35+10+135+100+20+100 = 400 miles
8. More appreciation for Subarus: priceless :grin:

I know I'm an absolute rookie compared to some of you. Outside of my round trip to Niagra Falls Ontario from PA (which was roughly 700+ miles round trip), what are some long trips you've taken?

San Francisco CA to Boulder CO ~1260 mi. Granted, I was 6 when we moved, but was still a looong drive.

Every year the FSAE team at CU drives from Boulder to Detroit, ~1275mi each way. The only Subarus there were from out of state people. I had to fly there this year in order to get back to work on time, but this coming year I'm driving it.

I would drive Wellington to Auckland (return) in a weekend. Leave Friday, return Sunday. Party Saturday.

Sane minds say you can do it in 8-9hours. I got so good at memorising the 600km that I could do it in 7hours. I did it once under 7hours, but I was alone on the road and punching it HARD through the hills. 3rd gear never saw the redline so much... LOL

Last weekend i went with my wife and my friend from NYC to Cape Cod to watch whales 600 miles roundtrip.
but my longest so far NYC to Tampa last february 2600 miles total over four day period. distance wasnt the challenge but blown headgasket was.
im so used to to a lot of driving i barely ever get tired behind the wheel. i got my lisence around three years ago and now i have around 140k behind me and living in NYC its not all highway.

I drove to Florida and back a few times. But not with the Leggy. 1,200+ miles and whatever city driving we did down there.

Well, when allison went to school in South Carolina, I would drive from Utica, NY to there and back. This ran between 750 and 800 miles. 12 Hours or so.

However, one return trip was particularly nasty. It was February 2005. A Nor easter storm hit the entire east coast, from SC to Maine. I had to drive back to NY. Of the mileage, 700 or so was in accumulated snow. By the time I got into Pennsylvania, even the big rigs had given up--it was just my legacy and an outback on the road. I made it back to Utica, but it was baaaad. Took 15.5 Hours. I stopped to chip ice and snow off of my mud flaps and out of my wheel wells. Twice, my wipers were so iced that they fell off of the arms, and I had to pull over and re attach them.

I drove my BK from Portland, Oregon all the way to Chicago, Illinois this past winter. It was flawless the whole way.

^^^^each of these trips were with 10+ people driving a 20' penske and enough Vans to hold everyone one way we still had to turn around and go back...

I drove from Fredericton NB to Victoria BC a few years back, it's about 6000KM, I think that works out to about 3600 miles. It was quit a journey in the winter.

About every two months I drive to my parents house. From Indianapolis, IN to Petoskey, MI. It's about 450 each way. Add in all the driving around while I'm up there and it's over a 1000 mile round trip. Six times a year.

I did Hanover to Mechanicsburg to KoP to Pittsburg to Philly one day. That was intense.

Also, I did Hanover to Baltimore to Hanover to Harrisburg (skipped KoP and threw away half the stuff I needed) to Central Mass when I moved back from school. I somehow got 33MPG that trip.

Monday morning I leave to go from Red Hook NY to Saukville, WI for a month. While Im up there Im going to and from Road America every day for a week, then we rebuild the car, then Im going to Bowmanville, ON (east of Toronto) for the Mosport race, then down to Detroit for the ALMS/IndyCar weekend at Belle Isle

Nope, Saukville is a pretty small town about 40 minutes north of Milwaukee.
