At oil temp light

I have a 1997 legacy L wagon with 180000 miles. My "at temp oil" light is flashing 16 times upon start up?? Anybody know what the problem is?

Change the 4EAT oil?

Take it to an autozone or advanced autoparts. You can get the code read for free, and know exactly what's wrong. :grin:

Flashing light usually means "fluid low" or "AT out of temp range" - usually the latter happens in the winter.

16 times is a lot, you're probably low on fluid and could do with a fluid change.

Mine was flashing 16 times too. I chance the fluid, top up everything and good to go.
