This is mainly my wife's car. It started as an '02 Legacy L sedan 5 speed. All the upgrades have been chosen by her, installed by me. Only things I chose were the Brullen cat-back and ganz style intake.
Has GR2's on iON Performance springs, whiteline rear bar, planning to pick up an addco front bar soon.
exterior is spiced up w/ GT side skirts, JDM Legacy GTB E Spec front bumper, Baja turbo hood, shaved/filled trunk, modified rear bumper for exhaust cut out. JDM L7 GTB emblem.
interior has a '02 WRX steering wheel, full leather seats kit, WRX leather shift knob, '02 RS shift lever.
future plans are to hopefully put an early EZ30 in there w/ mild cams and then do up the exhaust/intake.

I'll need to get some new interior pics. Will try and do that this week. I have been meaning to take some for quite a while now.

couldn't have said it better myself... Now all I need to know is what they are so I can get some for myself if I get the itch for new wheels

Those look like Rota Battle's in 17x7.5. Very nice ride. so clean

correct... Rota Battle, 17x7.5" Steel gray. I don't think they make these wheels anymore however. Inspiration came from one of the BE's in my Hyper Rev magazine.

Wow...really clean BE. I'm sorta wish I had spend more time trying to fit into the BE I was looking at before, because it'd have to look just like that. I love it.

Very nice. Why do you want to put in the EZ30 and not do a WRX swap?

Heavier car - if you have more torque it'll make for a much smoother vehicle. Plus it's his wife's car and I doubt she wants to be pushed back in the seat anytime she wants to go somewhere.

Why EZ30???
- well, first off as it isn't overly common and I like to do things different.
- Had an SVX and power deliver of an N/A H6 is very nice. My wife doesn't rev the car out a lot, so N/A done right will suit better.
- w/ mild cams, and good exhaust should make 250 chp all day long since they're rated at 230 from the factory.
- F L A T torque curve.
- will actually be lighter than a turbo motor setup.
Those are a majority of the reasons. Thought about FXT setup once, but realized an EZ30 is better suited to my wife's driving style as she likes low end grunt and getting off the line quickly w/o needing to rev the car out. Also as I don't see a lot of people if at all who have played with the EZ30 much in N/A form. Some swap them over as they sit, others swap them in for turbo.
Would love to tweak out an EZ30R, but think it will be more trouble than it's worth... however the EZ30R w/ good exhaust and intake breathing and a great tune could actually hit 300hp easy... that AVCS can really help out and it's already turning 250-ish.
Who knows if we'll ever get around to doing it though.

First off, I REALLY like your front bumper.
Second, the car looks nice, clean, and put together: bumper+hood+rims+bonus points for keeping the middle door trim black
Nicely done. Rock on!

how'd you get the black moldings on the door to shine like that? looks great!

trim safe paint sealant so you just go over it when you do the car.
Or 'wax' to those who still call it that. lol

Mothers Back-to-Black also works pretty well for trim like that. I'm drooling over the car again too.

You can have my EZ30 once I ditch it for an EJ25 turbo motor. Or I might just keep the H6 and twin turbo it.
Oh, and what are these cams you're talking about? Does someone already make EZ30 cams or do you plan on having them custom made?

lmk, I'd gladly take that EZ30 off your hands.
there is one company who makes cams for the EZ30, but I was probably just going to get some done up by delta.

Paeco Industries (http://www.paeco.com/)
There website is way out of date. Get one of their catalogs.
I have one of their older ones somewhere, I'll see if I can find it. They have lots of EJ stuff, and some EG/EZ stuff IIRC.

Nice job on the front bumper, I am looking at doing the same but with this bumper from a 2001 Legacy B4 RSK. Was wondering if it took anything special to get that bumper on, or was it a straight swap. I wonder if what I want to do would be a straight swap.
Cheers

You would likely need to swap the bumper beam or trim your stock one.

Ours bolted on, but you had to remove the foam in front of the bumper beam.
It is very possible you may need to even trim the beam some, but we didn't.
definitely not a 5mph bumper anymore.

I actually want an EZ30(R) for the same reasons, but selfishly, as I'm the only one who drives the car.
Turbos are whiz-bang and make power but just too complex for my liking, heavy, etc.
It's great that we have a choice, and I'm glad that many people do keep their cars running and have a blast with whatever they do.
One of my favorite BEs here, for sure.

I kinda am on both sides with the "no way" side reminding me that I haven't seen a 5spd (factory built) SVX yet.
But non the less, I like your idea. An H6 would be a nice highway beast, coupled with touring wheel/suspension, and a nice exhaust setup would be nice.

there is an older pic of the trunk on the first page of this thread.
will work on an engine bay shot... not much to see. Did add some RalliTek plug wires recently.

Ok, I'm back from disappearing. :) The legacy is now my DD and I'm hoping to do some tweaks to it this spring. Different suspension and wheels at minimum. Still would love to do an EZ30 swap as well.
Only shot I have of it right now, in winter mode parked next to my rallyx car.

I'll seriously work on the requested pics for you guys. Now that it's all cleaned up and the summer wheel/tires are back on. No better excuse for more pictures.
amgarrety, There was no R version of the EZ30 back when I started this journal. haha. Sounds like the EZ30 is still the easier swap, the R requiring a lot more work. An FXT swap would also be a great choice, but I'm not to any swap point yet. My RallyCross car takes up a lot of my funds and time.
YamazakiSubaru, you don't have to give me a reason to keep the BE. We bought it new in 2001 and still have it over 10 years later. Obviously, we're keeping it. :D

That's what I love to read. Folks getting and keeping BEs. Don't ask me why, but I just think the BE is the best Legacy ever. Each and every one.

yamazaki i do love the BE Legacy but i want the turbo and or ez30 from the 4th gen. Plus if i were to do the swap the book valve will still be the same than to a 05+ legacy which is worth more overall ya know... But who knows after i start modding it maybe my decision will change :).

Do you like the ION springs with the Bilstein HD's or do you think the Bilstein HD's are too stiff for the spring (causing overdampening or underdampening)?
Thanks
