So while I had clutch done, I also changed shift linkage to stock 06 wrx one, and upgraded front/rear bushings. Now its nice/notchy/quiet compared to what I had before, also it seems to sit a bit lower than stock one used to, so I wonder how much shorter the throws can get with a short shifter.
My shifter now is about 7" long when measured from the trim panel, and travels about 4.5" 1st to 2nd gear.
Can some of you guys measure your travel and height?
Thanks!

Short shifters, are not just shorter in height. The mechanical linkage is placed at a different point so the angle that allows for a shorter throw distance.
If you are still using a stock shifter, and just replaced the bushings, everything should seem tighter, but not necessarily any shorter. A short shifter should shorten the throw an inch or more.

I know what short shifters do and how, I want actual measurement to decide if I want one.
Like I said, I am using _wrx_ stock shifter and it seems lower than _legacy_ stock.
