Apparently Subaru is calling this their WRC Concept car that Peter Solberg will be on hand to help introduce. According to the article, this should strongly hint at what the STI may look like..

It won't have any chrome on it.
They've ditched the chrome on the 08 WRX grilles anyway, see your local dealer... :)

The taillights dont look as bad without the chrome strip between them.
The whole bumper and grill will probably not look like that.

Other than that it looks decent. Reminds me of the peugeots

i'd consider owning one if there was some normal looking tail lights I could import from another market.

I wish they'd realize that the whole clear tail light thing isn't cool in the US any more.

ya know what kills me when I look at those pictures and everytime I look at my BD?

the mother effin' nose.....just so much over hang. I could be totally wrong, but doesn't that screw with the f/r balance? Push the wheels out, bring the engine closer to mid and we've to ourselves a WRC DESTROYER!!!

again, I could be totally wrong.

for the record, I used to have this Scottish Terrier....Had some hard times, but generally an amazing dog. All my friends who had come over to my house joked about the guy tipping over because of it's bigass head.

I feel the same way about these prototypes.

Anything past the headlights is just plastic and the bumper just sticks out so far for aerodynamics and makes it look big. Our BD's definitely stick out at least that far. They're just bottlenosed instead of having a huge lip.
The wheels are close to the firewall to eliminate flex. Plus, the design of the boxer enigne/transmission doesn't allow the wheels to go forward anymore unless they want some fucked up CV angles.
