Hmm what would be the first signs of a HG failure? I know I'm losing some oil from valve cover gaskets but I'm starting to wonder if the HG isn't becoming an issue. I have some problem with the engine but it looks like it's the misfire cyl 3-4 that is heavier than last year. The only symptom is that sometimes i lose a bit of power but it really feels like a misfirering problem. Anyway is there some check engine code coming with the HG?

doesn't sound like a HG issue... when my HG went bad my car would overheat, and i'd see exhaust gasses coming up through my coolant resevoir, then after a while it would cool down and be fine, but thats about it, and it was very intermitant.. not sure how it would cause cylinders to misfire unless you've completely shredded your gasket and its obstructing the cylinder chamber

So basically overheating should be one of the first problem to occur? I don't really thing my HG is the problem just that after seeing some oil in my parking and after changing coil pack without any benefit, I started to wonder. Probably just plugs/wires away from my performance solution.

IF you are leaking oil you may have a bad seal somewhere. But mis firing could have something to do with plugs and or plug wires, since you changed the coil pack already.

Hmm what would be the first signs of a HG failure?

Bubbles and oil in the coolant.
