Sooo, not even a week with the tires.....

I got a set of used tires about 3 weeks ago to put on my 16" GT rims to save my 05 LGT rims for the project car.....

I put them on the car on Saturday when I changed the oil, filter, tranny fluid and rear diff fluid.

Low and behold today, I run over something in the road.....

a-thumpa, a-thumpa, a-thumpa, a-thumpa......

:? what....is...that......no, it can't be.......

a-thumpa, a-thumpa, a-thumpa, a-thumpa......

yup. it is.

damn it.

swapped it for the spare and threw it in the trunk. its still there. the 05 LGT rims go back on tomorrow. meh, I got the tires for $80. I guess not too much to complain about.

I still don't know what the heck stabbed my tire, I'll try to figure it out tomorrow morning.

I pulled said item out and STILL don't know what it is. it kind of reminds me of an iceberg. I was only able to see 25% of it sticking out of the tire. there was like a 2.5" spike sitting IN the tire. It honestly looks like it was made to KILL MY TIRE!

I'll have to post a pic.

kind of reminds me of a prison shiv, to be honest....not that I'd personally know what one looks like.

My dad seems to think its an old exhaust stud. seems to make sense. That ridge or 'stop' if you will has roughly 6 sides....hex nut. And just below that are some threads.

oh well.

So, the 05 LGT rims are back on. I'll be REALLY ripped if it happens to those too!

wow...looks like your freaky garden gnome really did have it in for you. Did it rash up your 16? at least you didn't have the 05GT wheels on, although it'll give you an excuse to get better tires for it.

No, Reason, its only 3" long. Look at the inches side of the tape measure, not the metric.

Yeah, the RE92's are temps....I'm waiting till the project is done till I put them better sneaks on the rims.

No, the 16s came out of it unscathed from what I can see. We'll see when the tire comes off to see if it scratched up the inner portion of the rim. Fortunately, it didn't blow the tire out, so I had some air to travel another 100 feet out of the intersection to my banks parking lot....which is where I was headed anyway.
