Well, I search the local online classifieds here for a 1st Gen. legacy turbo religously. Today, a 91 sedan pops up, 98k miles, 5 speed, runs...$600. I couldn't believe it, so I called up, and the car sold only 3 hours after he listed it. Damn! so close. Then he proceeds to tell me I'm probably the 9th person to call about the car today. Haha, who would think that so many people would be interested in a 91 Subaru?
Oh well, better luck next time.

In the meantime I'll just replace my HLA's in the wagon and the stupid tailgate handle to take the car off my mind. :roll:

I guess we can add get a new midpipe to my list of things to do. Just drove down the road, and the midpipe sheared in half at the hanger. I knew that was a matter of time, seeing it is still the original exhaust system.

I found out how to get that boxer rumble. :lol:

lol one of my friends had a forester with a broken midpipe(didnt know how to drive manual and ran over a speed bump and he wasnt doing 5mph)but damn that thing was loud, i was tempted to "accidentally break" mine 2 lol

Find a seller "licatalytic" on ebay - he sold me an excellent replacement midpipe for my BD. $130 shipped. Came with all hardware and gaskets.

So bolts and everything came with it? I looked up the OEM pipe, and it only comes with the gaskets....I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to cut the bolts off, if they don't disintigrate off first.

So I emailed him and asked if he could get one for MY95 2.2l, and he says the 96-99 outback midpipe should fit. But, that worries me because thats a 2.5 engine...are the pipes the same?
Can anyone vouch for this? Because if its going to be a headache, I'd rather just take it to a muffler shop and have them take care of it.

The midpipe is the same length, same diameter. I have an 99 Outback wagon midpipe on my 98 BD...
I received all gaskets and new spring bolts. You will probably want to replace the bolts anyway if you're going to cut them off... I lucked out and didn't have to. I did have to drill out some rusted bits just to make the fit a bit better, and I ground the flanges flatter.

Yeah, if I had the time I'd stuff a turbo in the wagon.
But, I don't. And I don't have anyone to help keep me sane during the surgery.
So, I've decided to look for a whole car. I know nothing about the ej22t, so I'd rather not ruin anything.

Thanks Huffer for the link. I ordered the pipe, and he told me if there's an issue, I can send it back and he'll find one that works. But, hopefully that won't be a problem.

Damn that was quick, the midpipe came in the day after I ordered it.
However, I went to put it on only to find the muffler bolts and flange are rusted beyond belief. I can't even tell where the bolt and nut used to be, its so bad.
So, I'm going to bring it to monroe muffler and they're going to just weld the pipe to the muffler.

If you can find a WRX owner, you could have a cheap replacement, with a little performance. But the cheaper option would probably be what you already are going to do.
