Hello from Michigan

Hello.

My name is Ryan and I just bought a 1997 Legacy GT sedan in Rio Red. I just graduated college in New York City and have moved back in with my parents in Michigan. I grew up in a domestic car family (GM) as my dad raced open-wheel modifieds in Southern New York, now it’s a lower level of Nascar. Well in 2003 I began to read about Rally Racing and Subaru’s involvement. As I went to music school (in NYC) I had no one to talk cars with, so I just read what I could online and would tell my Dad about this stuff. Well four years later there are three Suby’s at my house, My Dad’s Black 06 WRX, my Mom’s Red 07 WRX and my Legacy.

Down the road I plan to mod, but as of right now I’ll keep it stock and save some money. :grin:

Lol, almost the same thing happened to me.

Dad had a Subaru (company car) I learned to drive stick in - He quite his job & lost the car, went back to domestics.

4 years later I buy my own Leggy

6 months after that my dad remembers why he loved the car so much and bought his own Leggy used ('03 GT)

2 months after that my girlfriend gets a '00 2.5 RS because "its cute". Whatever... all I know is that they're good, safe cars, pretty easy to work on, and I have a mechanic who knows his Subaru crap for whatever I can't handle.

Both my parents have Subarus - both wagons. Dad's driving the "retired" GF8 STi-lookalike.
Now my in-laws have my old BD, and my wife wanted badbasser's 03 GT, but he wouldn't sell it. :lol:

Live right in midtown Detroit, next to the medical center. My house in NYC is in Astoria :grin: Small world!
