Hi,

I've noticed watter is getting into tail lights on my BH (the inner - backup lights, fog light).

I took that whole piece off, drained the water and dried it out - but I've noticed that the reflective surface in the fog light is destroyed - it just peeled off and little pieces of it flew around. Backup lights seem OK (albeit a bit dirty).

Can this part be taken apart to clean and re-seal?

Is there some simple (spray-on, ...) solution for repairing the reflective surface? Since it's just rear fog-light it doesn't need to be perfect...

You'd have to heat it up and pry it apart, then repaint the reflector section, and then reseal the unit using something weatherproof.

That section is too big for a conventional oven (a la headlamp baking) so you'd probably have to use a hairdryer or a heatgun.

EDIT: DISCLAIMER - I am assuming this is similar to headlight separation.
If the plastic is fused together on the taillights then I have no ideas there.

has anyone tried this on legacy tails? My friend's bugeye impreza tails had the plastic fused together on them, they were not meant to come apart, and he broke them trying to get them apart.
