So I'm at odds with what to do...

I have a MAXIMUM amount of US$120 to spend, and I'd have to beat Reason down a bit to give me a deal on shipping for Option 2.

I'd really like the grille, I just don't know when I'd find time to paint it and fit it, and the mechanical parts are fully transferable when the car gets swapped.

Not as a vendor view I would go with option 2-3 than 1. I don't really like the grill either. But you can't go wrong with lighten pulleys.

As a vendor if you order 2 and 3 I may be able to work something out with you :wink:

Any of them can go over to the STi swap as long as you don't also do a lightened flywheel (Some on NASIOC have had problems with lightened pullies plus lightened flywheels). decisions, decisions.

Litghtened alt pulleys on Subarus are impossible to do by yourself.

There's no internal stop, and the innards are too weaks for just shoving stuff through.

Basically, I have a lightened alternator pulley that i've never been able to install due to the fact that the average joe doesn't own the right tools to do it.

Basically the alterntors on my Subaru had no internal stops, and the castings are too week to stop externally. In short the alternator pulley will need a mechanic to be installed, they will super tension the belts witha sepcial tool and then with an air wrench remove the old pulley's nut...

I'm just trying to warn you in advance, at leats that was my experience.

Crank pulley does alot for n/a subarus.

Also, you might want to consider a power steering pulley instead of an alternator, it's muy easy to put on.

No. 2 was my vote. The crank pulley will make a bigger difference than the pitch stop mount. The pitch stop mount will also make your firewall act like a passive speaker, so if you don't like motor sound don't get it.

I have a Group A crank pulley and love it, I alo have an alternator pulley waiting to go on. I just bought a small cordless impact gun to do it myself.

Word of warning on the grille - It's a medium height grille. Considering your wagon is white, I'd advise against it.

I was actually thinking of leaving it black. I'm planning on "panda-rising" the wagon. Black hood, black roof, black wingspoiler, black cabin pillars.

I am now leaning toward EITHER the crank pulley OR the pitchstop mount.
I've decided I want to save some money to throw towards some kicks.

I like the pitchstop mount because I don't like the "jerk" when I get on/off the gas- the engine feels like it's bucking forward/backward. I've got some 04 WRX engine mounts I could chuck on to see if that does anything.

I suppose I could find a wrecked STi and grab that pitchstop.

The crank pulley would be great to have... The grille fitment I'm not overly happy about but I could live with... it's fiberglass though.

Gaaahhh.

At least I will have deadlydave's clear sidemarkers in few days.

You can't go wrong with the crank pulley. The pitch stop does hold the engine a lot better, but like "studum" said you have some noise in the cabin. I rode with "ooberdoob" a few times in his Legacy and it's noticeable, but I don't think it would bother me. The noise is hard to accurately describe.

With all due respect, don't waste your money on a pitchstop mount? I got my Group N engine mounts for $80, and they did a whole lot more to control engine movement and improve throttle response. Get the crank pulley and save $40 for a Group N/Sti pitch mount, is what I would do.

You're not making anywhere near the kind of power that would considerably flex even an HD plastic pitchmount, like an STi one.

If anything it's the rubber bushings that makes the difference. I had a brand new group N I sold because I'm going with the solid rod. Any way to each their own. We can all tell you the pros and cons but the best way for you to decide is to check it out in person. Find someone who has one or buy one and slap it on.

Ok, so not doing the grille anymore.
The fitment is an issue I don't want to deal with.
Not going to go with the alternator or the pitchstop. Maybe later.

You shouldn't get scared off too easily on the alt pulley. I'm sure any shop could do the change and I doubt it would cost much. I can understand about the pitch stop, not knowing first hand how it sounds. When ever you are ready Roger.

I have done 4 alternator pullies with an impact myself - no issues

I'm not scared about the alternator pulley - I just need to balance up what is going to be the best bang for buck.

Clear sidemarkers (thanks to deadlydave) will be an asset in winter for me. White car, silver wheels - going to be hard for people to see me.

Fumoto valve - less mess and time spent under the car with a socket wrench, no need to keep replacing crush washers. Buying two, one for the wife's car.

Crank pulley - biggest pulley on the front of the engine, biggest reduction on rotating mass.
