Got bored one day and decided to let my friends sign my headliner...it was all good until a phallic object showed up. So, what did I do? Painted everything black!

Finished..took me about 7 hours between two days...and a few broken clips here and there.. :smt013

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2007/09/utf8BSU1HMDAxMDcuanBnjpgt1249270318-1.jpg

Four cans of fabric, and three of Plasti-dip. I only used 1 and a half though, and I'd suggest five of the fabric spray.
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2007/09/utf8BSU1HMDAxMDUuanBnjpgt1249270279-1.jpg

All in all, it was an experience. Would I do it again? Not on my own car, and definitely not for free. I left some pieces the stock color, just for some contrast (oh shit handles, seat belt...thingys, and the map lights), and I need to get the drivers-side C-pillar to fit properly. Probably the last thing I do on the inside, besides some new seats. Oh, and after a month, my pitch mount finally arrived.

Thanks all, I'm really happy with the result I got, especially since I was at stock height for the longest time haha. Am I the first lowered BE on these wheels?

2000LWagon, it's a JDM grille I got from Andivic about 3-4 months ago. It was either this or keep the stock one and get a pink badge.

p.s thats a shot from my phone, so the next pics will turn out alot better

None that I have noticed, unless I'm driving like a complete ass and taking corners faster than I should. If I went the coilover route, I'm sure i'd have more of a chance of rubbing issues.

BE-Fresh

Baja hood is up in the air; I kinda want it, but kinda not at the same time. As for the bumper, I wanna do an 04 Outback, and keep the L headlights.

A scooped hood on an NA car? Meh, I guess if you just like going with every other person that owns a BE around here...

Let me know what youre going to do with the old bumper, I wouldn't mind getting those grey surrounds for the foglights from you :)

well the ironic part is that I'm one of the few BE owners that could technically use a scooped hood but I don't... :smt002

So who's going to cover the repairs? At least you're ok after the accident.

BE-Fresh
10-30-2010, 07:56 AM
Paying for it myself, don't feel like going through insurance. Popped the hood yesterday and looked at what I needed to replace. I'm already at about $530 and I haven't found a hood yet

BE-Fresh

BE-Fresh
11-09-2010, 12:09 AM
Yeah it's only bent a few mm, but I want everything to match/align up properly so I'm getting it done.

Well...here she is, all finished. Decided to hold off on the Outback bumper until at least March-ish. Didn't wanna ruin it if I happened to have another incident because of snow...which would happen because I have drag radials on these Rotas :smt013 . P.s Ben, we used the fog surrounds from the old bumper, so unfortunately I can't give 'em to you. But......if you want, I'll sell you the whole bumper with everything come next year!

Any issues with the 235/40r17 tires rubbing? How much space is there between the struts/shocks and the 17x8 +48 rims? I'm looking at getting some 17x8 +48 Rota DPT's in the future... Thanks

BE-Fresh
02-23-2011, 10:57 PM
Ah, sorry it's been a bit. Like I said, school is a pain. Didn't have any issues other than pulling into the entrance of my job. There's a small gap about 2 inches wide and a slight incline from the road to the parking lot, and if I come in any faster than 10 miles an hour, I'd hit the inner fender liner. Other than that, none whatsoever. Mind you, these are also drag radials. An all-season or strictly summer tire may not act the same.

And Dodik, I have 15in steelies on now. No pics yet, though.

dodik
02-24-2011, 09:53 AM
they cleared your brakes?? i though 15s dont clear BE/BH more info on those i need some super ugly snows next year

BE-Fresh
02-25-2011, 06:59 PM
Well, you may have larger brakes since it's an OB, but the base model BE/BHs came with 15in steelies behind nicely styled hubcaps. L-SEs and GTs had the 16in snowflakes.

rougeben83
02-25-2011, 08:10 PM
L SE's came with 10.7" front brakes, those can clear 15" wheels. 11.5" front brakes will only clear 16's. (not going into 4pot blah blah, just the good old 2 pot floating caliper design).
