Taking requests for how I should dispose of the boat anchor in the Loyale when I get a new motor for it.

Considering how tough the rest of the car is, you shouldn't sell it.

I say beat the shit out of the motor for a little while and then scrap it. It'll be fun.

the car itself is in good shape, could use a few less dents, but it's in overall good shape. Looked better until I accidentally de-winged it pushing it into the driveway... That's an easy fix though. The transmission, other than the clutch cable, is in excellent condition. Whatever I do to it, I want to keep the gearbox. At least I could sell it and get something better.

I'm gonna check the heads and head gaskets. If everything is okay, I may be finding a new turbo for it, and hoping it'll just keep going. >_<

I used a few hose clamps to temporarily 'fix' a few of the vacuum hoses. Wow, 22 year old vacuum hoses suck. They're rotting, solid, and non-pliable. I'm going to replace them. The one I "fixed" ended up helping the car to actually idle when warm. Once I get them all replaced, it should idle fine, and pull like a bitch again. At first, it would 'pull' in first gear. Now, it burns out in first when the turbo kicks in. Put it in first at 20 mph, and punch it. The front shitty tires burn out. It isn't smoking or catching on fire anymore either, so my neighbors aren't looking at me quite as funny as they did at first.

Are you going to replace all the vacuum lines with blue silicone hoses???

No, because the blue hoses I have (came with the ebay intake I got for my Legacy) are too small. I ended up getting black heater hose from the hardware store today, and it works just fine. The damn thing is idling now! Still idling low, but not as bad as before. I think the battery is coming back to life too. It's holding a charge more and more.

Okay, now I'm pissed. With new vacuum hoses, it's still not idling right. Going to have to figure out how to adjust the idle. It might be the alternator, the RPM drops 100 rpm when I turn the lights on, though I still can't figure out why the headlights aren't working. Suspecting the switch on that one.
