a kid i work with backed into with his durango while it was parked. i wasn;t in it to know exactly how hard it was hit but it was pretty bad. new hood, lights, grill, bumper, radiator (old one got cracked), hose from the radiator got torn, fans broke and rad support is bent too much to fix.

the body shop is replacing it all with subaru stuff and nothing aftermarket which is awesome too.

I was going to ask about the nails too. What's up with your license plate?

That sux man. It looks like a similar, but less severe version of what happened to my legacy when I rear-ended a Mitsu Outlander.

Wait, why is the shop going to replace it with OEM parts? This is the time to aquire aftermarket parts and tell them to put it on. Thats what I did. Specially if u want a baja hood.

MILF!

Anyways, I agree with Silentracer - why not upgrade for little or no extra cost?

i mean aftermarket as in cheaper replicas of oem subaru parts. alot of insurance companies do that and thats why they have such cheap rates like gieco. new jersey manufacturer's insurance company is what the kid had and they mandate that only parts from subaru can used in the work on my car.i dont have alot of money either so thats why im not gonna swap in gt headlights, a baja hood, or the OB bumper skin. i'd rather be getting on my rims, do suspension, and other stuff.

Doesn't the insurance just mail you a check and its up to you if you want to fix your car?

Hell yeah man, if I were you, I would shoot for the Baja Hood, New Front Bumper (OB or 03-04 Leg Bumper) GT headlights, Turbo  JK

That sucks man, I hate shit like that!

Oh well, at least the kid was insured.

no thats not how it happened with me. it went right to my dad's body shop and they took care of it from there.

yeah usually something like that once it taken to a shop they(the shop) writes and estemate for the work and submits it to the insurance and in return they cut the check to the repair shop minus the deductible. usually dosen't mean you can't work out a deal with the body shop to use the cheaper or diffrent aftermarket parts.
some times the insurance companies do send a sort of inspector to review all there(the specific insurance company) cars at the shop to check everything out. but it would be great time if you got that done now for sort of free paint job. they going to paint the OEM stuff any how could be getting it done to the after market stuff.
