i was just wondering about the parts you call JDM or whatever. Do all the American and other legacys come with different coloured indicators and tailights and stuff like that? cos my liberty (Aus) came with amber side markers, grey indicator cover (rear) and clear indiccator covers on the front. it is confusing me so i thought i would ask

I got my clear side markers from a guy in New Zealand. It should be easier for you to get cool parts than it is for us.

Except for the fact that the "cool" JDM parts are already stock on Libertys/Legacies in Australia & NZ.

Yeah, the only thing you're missing out on is the clear sidemarkers.

USDM Legacys don't come with sidemarkers at all, they have amber taillights, and amber reflectors in the headlights, unlike Australian, NZ, or Japanese Subarus. At least this is the case for the second generation.

Anyways, JDM is "Japanese Domestic Market" which Australia and NZ pretty much have full access to already. You can get whole cars that are JDM, unlike us in the US :-?

Nope. The cool thing overseas is to get the true JDM parts - even in NZ my clubmates there still lust over Hippo Sleek, HKS Japan, Signal Auto etc etc.

We have worse drivers, and it's easier to get a License in the States than Japan, Germany, and the UK. (those are the 3 I know about)

Nah, Subaru America is/was being cheap with their production parts. It also costs them way more to be EPA-certified and NHTSA certed because the USA has more stringent standards that the EU and Asia Pacific regions - not that it saves anymore lives.

It is also "easier" to get a license here in the USA... I can attest to that.

Lame Fog lights (I think they are for pure decoration, what do you think?
No Rear windshield wipers
No Power folding heated/mirrors
No sidemarkers

Yeah, it doesn't matter the make, we get the shaft over here.

The stock fogs for the GT models are pretty useless. I think the only good ones we got were the projector fogs for the 95-96 models. Glass lens, projector beam...just aimed too low to make a difference. Thank god for JDM projector headlights :smile:

I don't mind the cosmetics, though the bilstein suspension, aluminum control arms, turbo engines, brakes and a bunch of other mechanical stuff, SHOULD have made their way onto a USDM legacy in some form or another...sigh.

And the stock fogs are lame...though I doubt the JDM ones are any better...at least on the BE's. They look like they use the same projector (despite being a projector, the optics just plain SUCK).

I removed mine, now just running 4 lights :twisted: There's...going to be plans for those extra speed holes.
