For a few months now my "94 Legacy L SW 283K" has had this problem when its idling mostly.

I hear a click like a relay in the dash"sounds like its behind speedo" and the speedo, motor and rpms rev up from a little over 500 to around 1500. Anyone have a clue what this may be?

Thanks in Advance!

do your fans turn on with the jump in idle?

Additionally the AC does not have to be working for idle to increase and relays to click, it just likely wouldnt cycle.

yes i believe the fans do come on with the click and jump in idle.....also if im in drive stopped at a light or sign with my foot on the brake the car wants to surge forward with the rise in idle.........weird

when your plugs get old your car will run lean improving gas mileage, but the fire in the cylinders will not be hot enough.

check you defroster on the heater control if it is depressed switch to panel or floor you could have something stuck in you vent preventing the flapper in there to close direction properly

thats what mine does

i know this is old but i was just looking through this...i dont know if this is what happens to mine bu when i switch to defroster/floor or just defroster i still feel it come out the front vents and middle vents. Also even when i turn my air off i can still feel a breeze come through the front vents. Sometimes its nice becuase i dont need to leave my heat on sometimes but is this a bad thing or could something be stuck in there. Should i get this fixed? Model in sig
