Hi everyone, I was just wondering......I am looking at replacing the shocks on my BD LGT, and wondered if the KYB AGX that fit the Impreza GC RS would fit/work??,,,, I can't seem to find an AGX listing for the BD other than for GR2's... I am pretty certain that they should fit since people have used GC and GD suspension on BD's. but would like to make sure nonetheless before I pick up a set......
thanks for reading
and thanks for your help

They do fit, but you will have to use Impreza tophats and springs to ensure 100% fitment.

ok great......I'll check and compare the GC strut tops and springs to the BD legacy ones and see to make sure.....
I am pretty sure that the front strut tops will be the same, but I wonder about the rears.....I know the GD Impreza rears don't have the same bolt spread as the GC Impreza ones...
thanks

Sorry, I might have put you wrong - it's not the TOP of the tophat, it's the underside that has the upper spring perch that the springs sit in - because the AGX has a lower spring perch that is designed for GC springs, meaning the top spring perch for the Legacy won't work. Top hats/strut mounts should be fine.

I used the GR-2's from the bugeye wrx with only some minor annoyances. The AGX's would work just as well, if not better. The GD imprezas are closer in weight to our cars, but thier struts are shorter in the rear and give a saggy appearence. The GC's are the right height, but the struts in the rear aren't meant for the same weight, and may sag anyway. Some guys here have had success using wagon rear springs and struts on the sedan to make up for the weight/height difference.

ok cool, this makes some sense....Then what would be the best combination of struts, springs, and strut top top use.....I remember reading about the different spring types IE eibach, H&R, whiteline etc...but say if I went with the Eibach spring setup, what would be the best strut top and shock to use.......I really wanted to use the AGX's as they had the adjustability, but got confused when I went to the KYB website and they didn't show a listing for the 96-99 Legacy.....
thanks for the input guys!!
