I bought some JDM projector fogs to match my JDM projector headlights. The things look amazing... but I can't get them installed. I thought these were a direct fit for my cars bumper (99 Legacy 2.5GT) but after an hour and a half I'm starting to doubt that very strongly.

I did do a lot of searching and I only found one thread where a guy installed them onto an L bumper and had to cut it up and remove it altogether. I'd like to avoid removing the bumper... but if that's the only way is there a write up somewhere on how to do it?

Thanks!

That guy would probably be me :) Your bumper and my bumper are the same.

They are not a direct fit and will require cutting of the bumper and bumper beam. The DIY i made up is here

It's not exactly how to cut things, but it gives you an idea of what you need to do.

Well thats incredibly dissapointing news. I was expecting to pop these things in and be on my way... I don't like the idea of hacking up my bumper when I can't afford a new one :(

Thanks, the write up is good, I just have to debate if I'm going to do it, get someone to do it or just sell the lights.

It didn't cost me that much to have my bumper modified to fit.

I too am wary of body modifications since I was afraid of screwing something up and making it look like a hack job.

It's pretty difficult to screw it up unless you go at it with a chainsaw

Actually that is the tool I thought about using, but I changed my mind.
