OK finally after about a year i have found a hood at my local junk yard. Perfect condition the only thing is its for a outback. I have a 96 GT(BD) and i have the smaller grill i think? it has the larger one with kinda big holes. I really want a hood scoop, im not sure what year it is but prob a 97 or so, also its a hatchback but i dont think that makes a dif. So pretty much will this fit on my car? Thanks

the hood is the same size. the grille size just changes the bumper and bumper support.

so yes it will fit.

thanks....A LOT. Im little short on money but as of now this is next on my list because i dont want this one to slip away. Does anyone know who has had to do this how much a normal body shop would charge to repaint a hood? My color is green, dont know if thats an expensive color or not. Also is $125 good for a prefect hood, im pretty sure i can give this guy $100 though because i bought my car off a lady that works there and she can prob get it to me 4 $100. Thanks for the help though!

Paintwise, you'd have to ask the body shop. If you present it to them without the car, and they don't have to fit it for you, then it'd be less.

I think green is the most common color for these cars. I see more green than any other color.

If I remember correctly your paint wasn't in the best shape. having a freshly painted hood on a 11 year paint job is going to be a little silly. I would have the rest of the car detailed or at least do it yourself if it's too much money.

Hold it....

You want to put the hood on your Legacy?

And the hood in the junkyard... You said that it's a hatch back?? That makes it an Outback Sport. That's based on the Impreza. It won't fit your Legacy.

I think he means wagon, not hatchback (although some people interchange the words). So he'll be fine. I'd hope he knows the difference between Impreza and Legacy.

OK, just checking...

The Impreza's technically a wagon too, as it has the same amount of pillars as the Legacy wagon. People just think of a hatch as a compact car. I think he knows that an Impreza hood won't fit

Yes thanks, I do know, and trust me its the legacy hood because its on a legacy and i know what it looks like. Back to the paint, yes my paint isnt the best, but washed it looks pretty good, i think if i dint get it put on i would get it detailed and then all buffed and polished maybe? Also some A HOLE took my mirror off one night...cant do anything about it though it was parked in front of my house and i wasnt there. Its cracked off just wondering what the shell cost and the new motor, if anyone knows that woould be great..didnt want to make new thread just thought for small ? mine as well not clutter the forum! Thanks for the help

Maaco painted my hood for $167.92. Didn't do the best job in the world but that's what I get for going cheap.

I assume this is driver's side? Is the mirror glass itself cracked? Might as well get the entire mirror assembly if it is - I found one at a junkyard for $25, powered and everything.
