Well, I just passed the one-year mark of owning my car, so it's about damn time I finally do something that's not a DIY (aside from my CAI). Recently I've come into possetion of some very cheap exhaust stuff so I thought I'd show it off before I get to welding it all together.

First things first...

I was able to get an STI catback with something like 10000 miles on it for 70 bucks locally...

And more importantly, I was lucky enough to get a set of Borla-knockoff headers for....FREE! They were in really good condition, and being that I have a blasting cabinet and industrial oven at my disposal, I decided to put a fresh coat of High-temp ceramic paint on them for protection.

So in the next couple weeks when I get some free time I'll be mocking the system up and welding it on the car. I'll get some sound clips when it's all said and done.

Haha, Matt Monson (a pretty well known local Suby guy for you non-Coloradans) on awdpirates. I got on his good side somehow and he told me that if I picked them up they were mine at no cost  I had to cut them free from a custom 2.5" exhaust for a 2.5 RS, but I got to keep that too  I now have 3 complete exhaust systems sitting in my garage (including the one on my car).

Now you have to weld a flange on those headers and your good to go. i also painted my headers and wrapped them too.

Yea, I was actually thinking about just buying a high-flow cat and welding it straight to that, since they usually don't have flanges either.

Yeah if I can get my job back with masterdrive I'll be getting a block and heads from matt. If he has anymore, remember me ;)

I have borla headers and a stromung high flow cat and they both have flanges. Are you talking about a universal high flow cat?

Yea, this exhaust is going to be as cheap as possible, so a universal cat will help with that.
