I was looking at just getting a cheap ebay intake just for the tube, and i was wondering what all those hoses were that they come with? Or do they really have anything to do with the BDs they say the intake is for? Thanks

Well if you are ordering an intake for you car. It will need all the necessary hose to make everything work properly. If you just hook up the intake pipe and no hoses your car won't be going anywhere.

Usually when you order something for your car it comes with all the necessary hardware. Don't get spoked from all the pretty blue hoses.

anyone know how many there is suppose to be?

some intakes come with 3 hoses, others come with only 2.

If you order the right one for you car it will come with everything you need.

Vaccum and the recirc hoses that hooks up to your valvecovers.

The kit that comes with three hoses, doesn't have the right size outlet or hose for the Idle air bypass, FYI.

The EGR lines are fine though.

Installing a BE/BH style aftermarket intake on a BD/BK/BG can be a bit of a pain, but it's doable. I put a fitting into where the MAP sensor goes, and routed the idle bypass through that. I removed the Y junction on the crank breather vacuum hoses and ran both of them right into the intake. I had a cone filter with a metal mount; I removed the rubber hose part, drilled 4 holes in the metal part, and mounted the filter directly to the MAF sensor. It worked really well until the bracket broke, and then I put the stock airbox back on. You'll need to shorten the intake as well, and also get a rubber plumbing connector. You'll need some hose clamps as well.

In the end, it's pretty clean. A more flexible silicone connector for the intake to the MAF sensor would be more intelligent, I couldn't find one local.

The one I got through Mark had vacuum hoses, but the BE/BH didn't have an idle bypass connected to the intake, just the MAP sensor and 3 vacuum hoses, so that isn't as much of a problem.

Right, but this guy has a 97 GT which has the larger 3/4" idle air bypass line.

I converted the entire hose to 1" and ran it straight into the intake via a brass fitting.
