Hey guys. FIve thousand miles on the Legacy so far. I just got my G-timer and set it up this weekend. I got some surpeising numbers from the car.

Totally stock on 93 pump gas, 0-60 in 5.10, 14.10 @95.6 mph. Not to shabby.

I moved the washer nozzles to the air foil inside the hood scoop ( the factory nozzles clip right in like they were made for it! ).
I turned my manual boost controller to 16psi. I sprayed the intercooler for a couple of miles, let it cool, and this is my best.

0-60 in 4.80.....quarter mile came up in 13.67 @ 98.6mph. Get this, 1.83 second 60 foot time. My motorcycle can beat that!

All I can say is thia car is amazing. The more I drive it the more it impresses me.

That's pretty fast...is 93 octane the standard reccomendation on the GT Turbos?

Those numbers are tempting to obtain myself. How much you pay for the car?

98 RON?

In most countries (including all of Europe and Australia) the "headline" octane that would be shown on the pump is the RON, but in the United States and some other countries the headline number is the average of the RON and the MON, sometimes called the Anti-Knock Index (AKI), Road Octane Number (RdON), Pump Octane Number (PON), or (R+M)/2. Because of the 10 point difference noted above, this means that the octane in the United States will be about 4 to 5 points lower than the same fuel elsewhere : 87 octane fuel, the "normal" gasoline in the US and Canada, would be 91 in Europe.

I think the manual states 91 minimum. I turn the boost down when my wife has the car. She collects tickets! I run 93, but ocasionaly I'll buy the 109 unleaded and throw in 5 gallons.

I work at a Subie dealer, so don't puke when I tell you what I paid.

List was 29,750.....I paid 23,300. The average walk in customer could walk out with a GT without leather for about the same. Non Limited models are a few thousand less.....poor cow never knew his skin was worth a couple of $$.

They are selling like crazy too, if they dont screw up the styling, it's gonna start hurting A4 and Volvo sales.

Notice the trap speed in the quarter is kind of low for mid 13'S. I need to find a way to keep the boost up around 14 or 15 psi. By 5000rpm it's back down to 11- 12.5 psi. In third, thats a long pull to the end of the quarter at only 11-12.5 psi. That's kiling my trap speed. BY the way, I put a Faze luminesnce boost gauge in. Nice piece for $59.00.

The OEM turbo probably can't hold the higher boost past that point. I know the OEM VF11 that came on the '91-'94 Legacy turbos is that way. I was running 16 psi on one for about a year and it would be fully spooled by 2200 rpm but at 4800 rpm it would fall flat on its face and drop to 10-11 psi the rest of the way to redline. It was just too small.

Now I run a Monster 16G and it will hold 18 psi (and probably a bit more) all the way to redline but doesn't get fully spooled until around 3200 rpm. A bit more lag but it's a rocket once spooled and with the larger compressor housing, off boost drivabilty is MUCH better. I love it.
