What type of eclipse is that? Is the white thing a porche or an rx-7?

That eclipse is running now (old pic) its a 2G 1997 RS. Didn't even come with a rear sway bar, but i upgraded to a dodge avenger rear sway bar. It has a chrysler engine in it. a 420a. Its actually pretty light weight at only 170ish lbs. (dry weight) the car it self weighs 2700 lbs.

parts that are on it:

Engine:
Bosal header
Bosal exhaust
head decked .025"
.5mm head gasket
clevite 77 bearings
Mahle pistons and rings
engine bored out .020"
3 angle valve job + new lifters, springs, retainers, valves.
polished the ports
polished the intake manifold
MSD coil pack (to be put on)
60mm Throttle body (to be put on)
Dodge neon R/T intake camshaft (to be put on)(supposedly another 10hp)
Bomz CAI (i might put back on)
more stuff i know im forgetting

suspension:
koni short stroke yellow
eibach sportline springs
Dodge avenger rear sway bar
ingalls camber kits. -.08 front -1.3rear
bomz strut tower braces

transmission"
used to be a automatic
now is a manual
short shifter made by yours truely
solid bushings

and no, thats not a FC3S RX-7. its a 1983 porsche 944 with a 2.5L inline 4cyl. the engine is in the front, the transmission is in the rear and it has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution (with driver) it weights only 2600lbs. Presently restoring it with no budget. I bought it for $1 and it only has 95000 on it. its not starting right now, but that will change soon.

cool stuff. Theres someone who drags a 420a RS eclipse at Lebanon Valley dragway. His is really stripped down, but still N/A, and very, very quick on the quarter mile.

I want a turbo 944

im thinking about supercharging the NA 944

as far as drag racing an eclipse goes, i'd say, put a DOHC 2.4L stratus engine in it, then put all the same mods back on it. that engine was good, but heavy and put into a heavy car. it weighed some 220lbs. (dry weight) but stock it put out 150 hp and 168 ft/lbs. its an easy engine to get lots of power out of.

I've decided to ditch the whole supercharging idea in favor of making ITBs for it. i think it'll be a great idea, especially considering that im building the manifold and tuning it (with math and numbers, not with "i think this looks right") so that it'll still have power in the 3200 to 6000 range. where as when most people have ITBs, its for all out balls out high RPM, high speed, high horsepower race engines.
