I would love to take them off the only problem was during the install one of the bolts stripped the hole and now I am missing a header bolt. I dont want to test it again. I think it can be done it will just be a lot harder now.

If you really want to do it right. You have to take it off. The heat wrap will be like having heat shields on your car.

Retap the header bolt hole and put in a new bolt & nut.

The hole was so stripped that the bolt just slid in and out very easily. Nothing was keeping it in.What is re taping? is that the same as re-threading it?

yes, retapping is the same as rethreading, just on the hole, not the bolt. I'd tap it for a bigger bolt and put that in.

if you have a drill, yes. It's called a heli-coil. Common thing to do with stripped bolts. You drill out the old hole, put the insert in and viola, you got a new non-stripped hole.

I wrapped my old borlas. It was more to prevent the CEL than anything. If you haven't gotten any CEL's thus far, you won't notice any real performance difference IMO>

I used 1 50 foot roll of the stuff.

Remember to wet it and really stretch the wrap as you're doing it. It will help it seal tighter and cure faster.

Also, get some sort of thick gloves because those fibers stick and cause itchiness.

ok so where can I get some helicoils? I dont have a drill, also what size drill bit would I need to do the job? What kind of bit would I need?

Tapping the threads and repairing using a Helicoil kit are two different things.

Buy the Helicoils, the packaging has very thorough instructions from what I remember.
